First of all, let’s get this out of the way — there is not a single sneaker in this packing list! ZOMG!
I was looking back at my Paris packing list from 2015 and nearly choked when I saw that I didn’t bring a single sneaker with me. NOT A SINGLE SNEAKER.
Was there ever a time when we traveled without sneakers? Apparently yes, and it was 2015.
Yet, I remember being SO comfortable and happy with what I packed.
So I decided that it’d be fun to update that Paris packing list! You know, pretend like I’m going on that very same trip to Paris today and share what I’d bring now.
And WOW. I’m obsessed with this travel capsule.
I kept it in the same lane as the 2015 packing list — verrry timeless, chic, neutral. And I can’t believe I’m saying this but — no sneakers.

I’ve got 16 items in this travel capsule:
2 SETS | Packing with sets is my favorite hack right now since you can wear them together or separately. This white pull-on skirt and smocked button-front top set can read as a dress (plus it has Doen vibes without the Doen price tag). Also included a set of striped pull-on shorts* and a striped button up.
2 TOPS | One very high quality white tee, and a linen vest top that is so cool I can’t stand it. I just got it myself and love how it’s effortlessly polished.
2 BOTTOMS | Relaxed mid length jean shorts* and drawstring wide leg jeans. That drawstring! The tiniest detail that adds quite a bit of interest.
1 JACKET | A washed leather moto jacket might not be the first thing you think of as a summer jacket, but you never know when you’ll have to contend with a chilly airplane or museum. Pair it with straw bag for that leather + straw combo that I just cannot get enough of right now.
3 PAIRS OF SHOES | Daytime t-strap sandals*, comfy ballet flats, and a kitten heel* to dress things up in a low-key way. Told you no sneakers!
2 BAGS | One straw tote trimmed in black leather for daytime, and one statement crossbody bag* that can also convert into a chic little nighttime clutch. LOVE the studs on it — perfect detail to shake up a neutral capsule.
2 ACCESSORIES | A pair of cool sunglasses, and a ball cap* for sun protection

I have been trying to shop my closet first, which shouldn’t necessarily be a challenge–I enjoy and feel great in my clothes and have spent the past three years or so (plus a lot of trial and error) making clothing choices I am guaranteed to feel great in. But I am only slowly developing the imagination/creativity to see how I can put different elements together rather than just always grabbing the same go-tos over and over. Enter your blog! Your posts–especially packing or capsule lists like this–are a perfect spark to light up my own wardrobe. I sat down this morning with your post and listed items I already own that are similar to or generally correspond with what you have pictured. Wowza!–a whole new set of options presented itself!
