A little summer suiting moment!
Not gonna lie, I didn’t see this one coming for me. I always felt like a suit situation was too put together for my typically undone style. Of course, I love a good trouser with a tee or a vest with a running short. But wearing the trouser-vest set together? That’s a new one for me, and it turns out I love it!
Here’s what makes it work for me:
- Going for a low rise pant instead of high rise. A low rise gives off an ultra relaxed feeling, plus it’s much more comfortable for me.
- Carrying a canvas tote instead of a real bag. Nothing dresses down a suit like a canvas tote.
- A Birkenstock! A sleek one, but a Birkenstock nonetheless. Casual and utilitarian.
- Opting for a natural, lived-in fabric like linen instead of crepe which can feel office-y.
Switching up a fabric, pant rise, or accessory can work wonders. Sometimes it’s the littlest swaps that turn a solid no into something doable — and you never know until you try!
