There’s something so comforting about a purely regular, no-frills outfit. The combo of running shorts and a tee represents what I love most about summer — that easy, unencumbered feeling.
Three things make this outfit special for me — the sneakers (my prized Ontitsuka Tigers), the tote bag (a recent addition to my canvas tote collection), and the socks (how cute and unexpected is the little scalloped detail! A tiny point of contrast in an otherwise sporty look).
If you’re looking for a good plain white tee, try this one from Reformation. I’ve had it for a couple of summers now and it’s holding up beautifully. It’s 100% organic cotton, substantial, and not see-through at all. I wanted more of a boxy fit, so I sized up to a M.
Oh! And I’m trying something new with my hair! Beach waves via flat iron. I stumbled upon this method while watching one of Chloe Hayward’s vlogs (starting at 10:04 — the link should take you to it directly). Her technique kinda blew my mind. It’s not a full tutorial, but you’ll pick it up from the quick 15 second clip. I still need some practice, but I think it’s going to be my go-to over the summer.

Random question about the white tee–how do you keep it clean? I have the slightly cropped white tee you recommended from A+F, and I love it, but I cannot seem to get out the random stains. I’ve tried oxiclean, dawn dish soap…do you have any tricks or are you not as clumsy as I am apparently? lol

What is the color of your shorts as described on the Nike website? That doesn’t look like a plain red color. Either that, or the lighting is making that red look so vibrant!
Just checked my order confirmation to make sure — they are listed as “red”. Lol, not super helpful. :) I will say I was pleasantly surprised with the color in person — on the site it looked like a classic red, but in person it’s a happier, brighter red. But my iphone does that auto-edit thing to all photos (kind of annoying), so I do think it’s reading even brighter in the photo than they are in real life.
I put on almost this exact outfit today before opening this email, and then changed into running shorts afterward. SO much better and more comfortable. Thank you for sharing!
