LOL our weather is so back and forth — yesterday was warm, today is downright cold! Much too cold for a mini skirt, but I didn’t realize that til it was too late. Can’t win ’em all.
Since I still want to wear my skirts in the winter, I’ve got cozy, fleece-lined tights on the brain. I have a good pair of fleece-lined opaque black tights from Target. But I’m also thinking of grabbing this pair that has thicker fleece and gives the illusion of sheer black tights.
Which brings me to a controversial question — are we ever wearing skin-toned tights? Like tights that are opaque, but in a color that matches skin so it looks kiiinda like bare legs? What do you think? My initial thought is no — but also, I don’t want to write it off til I try. Let me know if you’ve tried this recently and how you felt about it.
If you sent me on a trip and told me I could only bring one (1!) sweater, I think this Aritzia fleece would be the one. It’s the kind of casual that works great for super relaxed family hangs, but it’s got just enough *something* to it that it feels like you did something. It works just as well with sweats as it does with a cute mini skirt, like today’s look.

My fleece lined leggings send their love :). We surely need them with temperatures just above 0°C. I wear them under my nice athletic leggings or on their own with a dress. If it’s properly icy, I’ll wear them under baggy trousers for maximum toastiness, but judging from yesterday’s post that won’t happen soon in your area- I’ll admit I envy you :)
Gosh, now that you mention it, I haven’t worn skin tone (nude for me) tights since I started working in an office! Not long after, I reverted to bare legs since that’s what everyone around me did. But if I *do* wear tights in the winter, I definitely wear sheer or opaque black or gray. I would feel really outdated if I wore nude again. I feel like only that’s reserved for celebrities at concerts nowadays lol
I live in a place where the colder temps mean you either succumb to the same “outfit” every day – the warmest stuff you own over long underwear, plus a hoodie and a giant parka, and boots – or you seek creative solutions so you don’t feel schlubby until spring. So I am definitely interested in trying those fleece lined skin tone tights!
I have plenty of thin base layers, thick leggings, Smartwool socks, hoodies, knit caps, and the requisite knee length hooded puffer parka, but some days it makes me want to scream, so I use those same base layers to wear my more interesting clothes and I don’t feel cold. I grew up in a more temperate climate, so discovering base layers in my adult life was a revelation. I think they’re one of the greatest inventions ever. 🤣
