Happy weekend! I thought I’d pop in and share what I wore on one of my walks earlier this week.
Going for long walks is a big part of how I stay sane as a human being, so I try to walk everyday if possible. But for some reason, I’ve never really factored style into my walking clothes. Until this year! I’m letting my enthusiasm for personal style spill over into my walking clothes. And it feels so good!
Red makes me happy these days, so when I found these red shorts from Lululemon, I jumped so fast! My old walking shoes were worn out too, so I recently replaced them with a running shoe that the fashion set loves — the New Balance 530. And I was SHOOK by the flattering, perfect, not-too-cropped fit of this Abercrombie sweatshirt — so much so that I ended up getting it in two colors.
And hey, Abercrombie is having their annual activewear sale this weekend! 30% off all activewear, no code needed. Check out the legging-friendly sweatshirt and the matching sweatpant.
Are you a big walker? Do you listen to stuff while you walk or do you go media-free? Curious what you listen to, if anything! Feel free to share!

I love listening to audiobooks when I walk. I just finished listening to Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfeld
I LOVE a good long walk! One of my goals for this year is to get outdoors every day, even if it’s just for a walk around the block. I almost always listen to music, although I also love to call and catch up with a friend on the phone! Thanks for sharing :)
Hey I appreciate the daily posts outfit inspiration but if it gets too much, just fyi I would continue to subscribe !! Also love walks but trying to find the motivation to do in the rain and techno free walks for me .
I’m a big walker and always listen to something, usually a podcast, though sometimes I just want to listen to music. Some podcasts I listen to on the regular are Forever 35, Sentimental Garbage, How to Fail, and Best Friend Therapy. As a fellow Taylor Swift fan, you might enjoy the Ringer’s Every Single Album series on TS. I devoured it!
Fellow Ringer fan her… actually got into Taylor Swift after discovering Nora’s music coverage as well as her work covering the NFL. Love Every Single Album!
This is SUCH a cute outfit! And I walk/run/hike and don’t ever listen to anything. For me, it’s necessary in order to totally clear my head and be present in the world around me. I love podcasts, though! And music!
Your walking fit is much cuter than mine, which given the very cold weather here in the UK at the moment consists of thick walking socks, joggers, a thermal shirt, a sweatshirt or university hoody, a softshell jacket, a waterproof jacket, scarf and gloves.
Very jealous of the chic thigh grazing shorts in January haha!
I have hypothyroidism and walking really helps with symptom management (as well as taking my medication, and paying attention to what I eat). I actually live in a beautiful neighborhood that has a greenbelt directly behind it, so I love being able to take long solitary walks through there, especially in winter. Unfortunately because of my job, at this time of year I’m not able to walk daily unless I’m willing to walk in the dark. Given that a pack of coyotes live down the hill, I currently can only walk on weekends. Once the sun comes back and it warms up, I’ll be able to participate in morning/evening daily walks before/after work. So for now I do daily yoga which I also love! It’s also good for my chronic illness. I’ll likely continue yoga even when I’m able to do daily walks again. As for what I listen to it depends on my mood. I often go without headphones but some days I’ll listen to a podcast. A favorite is Hot and Bothered, which is actually less steamy than it sounds 🤣 it’s meant as a conversation about the romance genre but often they do deep dives into feminist classics such as the Brontë sisters, Jane Austen, and Virginia Woolf. They are also big proponents of walking and offer walking pilgrimages and workshops to classic novelists’ hometowns. I’ve never done one but my point is they’re a good walking podcast. Usually though I prefer to be alone with my thoughts.
PS you may also enjoy Articles of Interest which is about the history of fashion! Although something tells me you already know it ;)
I don’t know why I have never thought of style when I walk. This inspired me to look into cuter things 😄 I unplug when I walk. I’m consuming media all day long, so my walk is connect with nature and clear my head, or to have a meaningful conversation if I’m walking with someone else.
