What happens when you take your typical summer fit (running shorts, white tee, canvas tote) and throw a blazer on top?
You get some intriguing tension! Sporty/classic. Casual/polished. Summer/fall. All that contrast adds visual interest. I even got an outfit compliment from a gal at a coffee shop. So yes, I’ll be wearing it every day now. :-P
I love that this blazer lets me tiptoe into that autumnal vibe — that cloudy day, yellow leaves, curling tendrils of chimney smoke vibe — even though there is no such scene going on outside my window.
I’m not mad though. October in Texas is glorious. The sunlight is golden and the temperature sits in that sweet spot *right* between warm and cool. Also, I went SWIMMING OUTDOORS last week. I’ve decided that outdoor swimming in October is one of my truest delights in this world.
Back to the outfit. In line with the 8 point outfit system that has recently captured my fascination, I wore more jewelry than I normally would, adding this new pearl necklace to my everyday earrings, necklace, and anklet. It’s amazing how the addition of one well-chosen necklace can make you feel like a whole new person.

What kind of socks do you wear? Mine always show or slide off the backs of my heels…do you have a good recommendation?
Hi Sarah! I wear Pair of Thieves no-show men’s socks. They are pretty good about not slipping, although with a few of my shoes, they do still slip. Anyone else want to chime in with a recommendation?

Sarah, I’ve had decent luck with Bombas no show socks. I’m inclined to agree with Caroline that there is no perfect no show sock though!
Caroline, I also live in a warm climate (Florida) but it was 62 degrees this morning and I’ve never been so happy to throw on a blazer and Chelsea boots! It will be 85 again by the end of the week but I’m embracing fall when I can!
I have some Stance no-show socks that are the best ones I’ve found so far.
