You might recognize this little bag as Merit’s signature makeup bag. But for me, it’s now the cutest little purse I own!
That deep shade of honey gold feels luxurious, but the corduroy material feels decidedly unfussy — and you know how I love an unfussy accessory. Just look at the warmth it brings to this minimal black and white fit. Absolutely love it.
So yes, the fact that I have this bag means I finally placed my first order at Merit. (The bag comes free with your first order.) I’m a notoriously slow mover when it comes to cosmetic purchases. I’ve been wanting to try Merit’s Clean Lash tubing mascara for well over a year now, but all the recent influencer ads finally pushed me to place the order.
And guess what? I have nothing but praise for this mascara. It’s super understated, subtle, and natural looking — exactly what I want in a mascara. It lifts my lashes like nothing else I’ve ever tried. Somehow zero clumping. And it stays put and DOES NOT SMUDGE. An absolute miracle. Tubing mascaras are a miracle.
Before I tried Merit, I was using Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions tubing mascara. It, too, does not smudge and I really love it, but it was a little too bold and dramatic for my everyday wear. Highly recommend it as your fancy, going-out option though.

I’ve been a faithful fan of the “They’re Real! Tinted Lash Primer” in Mink Brown from Benefit Cosmetics. It works for my minimal, no make-up, preferred aesthetic. It is easy on my sensitive eyes and doesn’t overwhelm my lashes. The Thrive option sounds promising for a more elevated look, I may try it. ALSO – It’s great to see your styling sessions booked up, Caroline!
Merit is the BEST! I did my own make up for my wedding and loved merit the most after sampling a lots of products. I got the whole line and the blush impressed me the most – lots of my friends have ended up buying it after trying mine.
I love Merit’s blush, probably my favorite product by them and my favorite blush I’ve tried from any brand in a long time. The tinted lip oil is also quite nice though not a must have for me. I prefer the signature lipstick, which is somehow bold yet subtle. I realize that makes no sense but I don’t know how else to put it!
I’ve been using merit a while now and love it. Tried to get this white skirt but it’s sold out in my size. Bummer.
