I’ve had these wide leg jeans since last summer, but I put them out of sight all winter because I wasn’t feeling inspired with them.
Sometimes it really helps to do that — if you’re not feeling inspired, don’t force it. Just come back to it later.
(Sidenote: The hall closet is where I store off-season clothes, or just clothes I need a little break from. Rotating clothes in and out goes a long way in making me feel excited about what I already own.)
So last week, I ended up pulling these jeans out of the hall closet for this outfit. And with that, the dry spell was broken! Now I keep getting hit with little lightning bolt ideas for how to style them. SO FUN. Nothing like fresh inspiration.
And speaking of familiar pieces meeting fresh inspo — I got some fresh inspo with my Little Liffner Tulip tote today too! I thought the taupe color looked really good with the dark brown jacket.
Do you find it helps to put too-familiar clothes out of sight for a while? What’s your favorite way to find fresh ideas with clothes you already have? Let me know in the comments!

Hi Caroline! What’s the fit of the Sambas? Are they true to size or run big? Thanks!
They run true to size for me. I’m usually a 7.5 in women’s shoes, a 38 in Birkenstocks, and my foot is 24cm — in Sambas I wear a M6.5/W7.5. :)
Thank you Caroline! :)
