DAILY OUTFITS

It’s getting harder and harder to know when things *actually peak*

04/24/24

Worn on: Tuesday, April 23rd

I’m finding it harder and harder to know when things *actually peak* these days. A trend might peak in one circle, but not in another — you never really know.

So maybe it’s just me, but I’m feeling very 2021 in this outfit! I wore big button up shirts, bike shorts, and dad sneakers allllll the time that year. (I’m curious, did you?)

I just recently learned that bike shorts completely fell out of favor somewhere between 2021 and 2023 — but according to fashion people (like Leandra or Jalil), they are coming back now in 2024? I missed all of the memos. Just been happily wearing them this whole time.

I do find it really fun and fascinating to follow along with the happenings in fashion (read: trends). I like trying new things or being a part of a moment.

And.

I also like to wear what I feel drawn to, no matter where it falls on the current in/out fashion spectrum.

A mix of both.

One enriches the other.

I had NO idea bike shorts were ever out! I’m still wearing them and feel like they’re here to stay…I just can’t go back to shorter shorts -_-

Also, how does the Reformation Will Oversized Shirt fit? Is it true-to-size or size down? Thanks!

I’m wearing an XS here. At Madewell or Everlane I have to size up in shirts like this to get a more oversized look — but the Will shirt fits exactly how I want it to in an XS. So if anything, I’d say it runs a little big. I’d grab one size down.

I tend to be “trend averse.” I don’t jump right into new fashion and in fact usually warm to it right as it’s considered “out.” 🤣 I think a big part of my style identity is growing up thrifting for fun. Sure I wore a ton of mall brands like everyone else but I was always in the vintage and thrift and consignment because of my mom and grandmother, I mean from age 12. It was a fun activity not a means of necessity. To this day I still start my shopping trips at the thrift store and usually don’t get past that tier because I find amazing stuff. Anyway my point? I just wear what I’m drawn to!
