When I open my closet to get dressed in the mornings, sometimes there’s this jittery voice in my head that urgently whispers, “You gotta do something inventive! Add interest! Elevate it!”
But then there’s another voice.
A calm, kind voice. It’s the voice I can hear when I get quiet for a minute. Sometimes I put my hands over my heart and take a soft breath in and out. Then I can hear it.
And it says, “Lean into what you love most about summer. That dressed-down, ease of running shorts and flip flops. Summer is here and now, lean into what you love about it while it’s here. It’s okay, you can release the shoulds.”
So that’s what I did today. :)
