Okay, this is cute!
I’ve been inspired to try some minimalist-femme outfits lately. Often my minimalist outfits lean more masculine (see this look). Love both, but it’s fun to branch out!
I normally would’ve paired a minimal black flip flop with this outfit, but that felt a little too beachy for me today. Instead, I wanted to lend some polish to the outfit.
And there’s nothing more femininely polished than a ballet flat!
I’ve had these J.Crew flats for 8 months, and I have to be honest, I have NOT reached for them. I can’t rave about their comfort — they are decently comfortable, but required some strategically placed moleskin so they wouldn’t give me blisters.
But I do like how they make me feel a little more dressed.
So, somehow these ballerinas felt right today? Unexpected, but I love it when I suddenly MUST wear an otherwise unworn item. Happy little surprise.
This outfit also contains a lot of hair accessories that aren’t worn in my hair (lol). That velvet scrunchie and claw clip add yet another touch of femininity to the look. The outfit wouldn’t read the same without ’em.
And — what’s this? — I’m wearing a brown tote, and there’s no brown anywhere else in the outfit? Your gal who loves to repeat tones is walking on the wild side today. My new outfit motto is: One thing slightly off. This singular touch of brown achieves it beautifully.
