I’m finally resurfacing after moving! Whew, that took way more energy and time than I thought. :)
But here I am — new place, new era.
Ever since my marriage came to an unexpected and painful end a couple years ago, I’ve been living with family or staying with friends. This new place is the first place I’ve lived on my own — so, needless to say, this move felt emotionally significant.
I feel excited and hopeful. I also feel a little timid in my footing, and that’s okay too.
Big change requires relearning how to do things again, and relearning how to do things again requires vulnerability.
This plays out in big and small ways: Seasonal shift to autumn? How do I pair a sweater with pants again? Moving into my own place after divorce? How do I live on my own again?
It’s a take-it-one-day-at-a-time kind of thing, but I am making my way.
Not to mention, I am coming alive with design ideas for this space. It’s been a couple years since I’ve had my own space to pour myself into, and you know I am living for it! Last week, I went to a student art show and got some fun + inexpensive art pieces, including that fun red one you see in the video above (or try this link if the video isn’t working). I’m excited to show you more of the space as it comes together.
But for now, starting tomorrow, it’s back to outfits! I’m so excited! I’ve missed posting them.

Many years ago I went through the same thing, and having my own space was a huge step toward relinquishing my past without bitterness and moving to the next phase of my life, It turned out better than I ever dreamed. The love of your family and friends will keep lifting you up as you move into a future that WILL bring you contentment and joy. Love the new space! Keep taking care of yourself.

Welcome home, Caroline! Living in your own space can be such a joyful and fulfilling experience. You get to discover what home means to you, and find your own rituals and traditions and ways of turning space into your place. Creating a new life for yourself is a lot like moving: sometimes stressful and overwhelming but also full of possibility and opportunity. I think you’re going to settle in just fine.

Beautiful! It is wonderful to have your own place/space. Thank you for making your piece of the internet such a beautiful, inspirational place to visit.
