There’s no single formula for finding that *one* piece that pulls everything else in your wardrobe together.
But here’s where I think it starts:
Noticing. Noticing what feels off. And getting honest about what you don’t want.
Here’s what I knew a few years ago:
I was supposed to carry a chic bag (because all fashion girlies do) — and — I didn’t like carrying a chic bag.
Every time I tried one, it just sat in my closet. And for several years, I defaulted to canvas totes because they felt more “me” than whatever It bag was trending at the moment.
At some point, it clicked. I wasn’t looking for polish, I was looking for interest. I didn’t have to shun all bags, I just needed to find one that was interesting and unpolished.
And that’s exactly how I found this paracord bag. It feels like magic. It knits my wardrobe together. Not because it’s expensive or trendy or what the algorithms are pushing — but because it completes my outfits in a quiet, offbeat way. It gives me that summer camp vibe that I’m so often going for in my fits.
Conventional fashion wisdom tells us to carry a “good” bag. But what if the right bag (or shoes or jacket) looks totally different for you?
What would it feel like to trust your taste, even when it goes against the rules?
