Worn on: Wednesday, February 7
I keep reminding myself of this:
Part of making the good outfit is making the bad outfits first.
So often my frustration when getting dressed comes from the assumption that outfit building should be *effortless*. This assumption leads me to feel deflated if I don’t nail it on my first or second try.
But if I can drop that assumption, and instead embrace a mindset of trial and error, the whole thing feels lighter.
So, this look didn’t come about effortlessly. I woke up with a fun fit idea in mind, but it wasn’t right for the weather today. So it was back to the drawing board — I put things on, I took them off. Again and again, for about 20 minutes, until I landed on this one.
I feel good about the outcome. I like the little details — the jewelry (shine!), the delightful shock of a white stripe down the side of the black track pants (contrast!), the white tee layered under the cream v-neck sweater (dimension!), and the pops of red (color!). It’s cozy, it feels like me, and I’m wearing some pieces I haven’t worn in a while, which always feels good.

This is a genuine question because I’ve been so curious, and I hope you don’t mind. But since you’re a full time blogger, which I imagine happens from home, where are you actually going every day that you’re wearing an outfit, especially a bag and shoes?
Hi Seti! I don’t mind at all! I used to work primarily from home, but I really missed being out in the world and around people. So now I go to a coffee shop every single morning (right after I take my outfit photo!) and work there. :)
