People watching at Central Market

I was in Austin over the weekend and here’s the deal: Central Market has the best people watching. I’ve gotten bold lately, and when I see an outfit that really inspires me, I actually SNAP A PHOTO of it. (Younger me could never.) I like to think I’ve mastered the art of doing this in a way where it doesn’t look like I’m taking a photo. That’s what I tell myself anyway.

There’s something so refreshing about seeing style out in the wild. I love seeing what someone chose to put on for their real life, their most mundane errands.

Here were my top 3 favs:

1 | Cropped pants, a strapless top, crocs with socks, and a hair scarf. I’ve been hoping I’ll get up the nerve to wear a hair scarf this summer, and this look really inspired me. I felt like the crocs and socks really pushed it to the next level — decidedly not cute, but unfussy and cool instead.

2 | White trousers paired with a vintage graphic tee that had been cut and cropped into a muscle tank. Unfortunately, you can’t see the details of the muscle tee, but it was what made the look. Loose fitting. Boxing club vibes. Forrest green with yellow text. That vintage tank was a stark contrast to the otherwise polished look.

3 | Tiny striped shorts with a big graphic tee and ballet flats. I didn’t get a snap of this one, but it was so cute that I recreated it with my own pieces as soon as I got home. Don’t you love it when you see an inspiring fit and you know you already have all the ingredients in your closet?
