I watched a reel the other day that I haven’t stopped thinking about. Maybe you’ve seen it — it’s an Offtrend interview with Victoria Paris. She’s asked to share her unpopular fashion opinion, and she says:
You can’t throw a fit every day. Real fashion is looking mid most of the time…because you’re just experimenting and trying new things, and experimenting isn’t always good. I don’t always put on a good outfit but I’m always trying.
YES TO THIS. It felt like a pressure release valve.
So this outfit is relatively unremarkable, but I did do a few things here. Knowing that I tried some stuff (even if it’s not obvious, even if no one else notices) makes me feel good in the outfit.
So I fully committed to the baggy look today. I love an all-baggy outfit — especially when the hair is hairing. Nothing like curled hair to finish a baggy look.
I slouched these jeans as low as they could go to further lean into the baggy look. (How many times can I say baggy?) Then I front-tucked the sweatshirt *just a scootch* — I like that it doesn’t read as tucked in, but you can still see a little more of the jeans.
And finally, I went for my Peace & Quiet sweatshirt — this sweatshirt feels like a walking wink. It’s not quiet about being quiet. ;-)

I love this! Thank you for sharing. I actually use StyleBook (which I believe you recommended) and I was doing some outfit planning this morning. I realized I have a LOT of casual “mid” looks. But that’s my life! I have kids, I work from home. I don’t need or want to make a statement daily. I guess technically the daily statement is relaxed, comfortable, but still stylish because it is effortless.
And as a mom I’m gonna need that sweatshirt 🤣 my version of this is a tee that says “GO ASK YOIR DAD” from Joyfolie. Thank you as always, Caroline, for inviting us into your closet and your life.
