Oooh y’all. I love this outfit so much. It’s a grown-up, minimalist take on what I used to wear as a kid in the summer. My best friend and I had matching shortalls, and we’d twin on purpose all the time, hoping someone would think we were actually sisters. That memory still lights me up.
And honestly? I want to keep noticing what lights me up — even if (or especially if) if it seems small or silly.
I never want to outgrow the things that bring me joy. I want to keep growing toward them.
So, maybe overalls are a little divisive in the fashion world. Maybe some people see them as too childish or unserious.
But I don’t. And mine is the opinion that matters most in my closet. The same way yours is the opinion that matters most in your closet.
It’s easy to forget that. It’s easy to outsource our preferences to people (or feeds) around us.
But one of the best, most underrated things about personal style is this:
You can use it as a space to validate your own preferences, your own voice, your own vision.
And every time you choose what you like and wear it? That’s one small, beautiful way to build self-trust.
Is there something you’ve been drawn to that you’ve been second guessing? What if you just said yes to it?

I said “Oh! My gosh!” out loud when I saw your photos today! This tonal outfit is *stunning*! So simple, yet so different. You look so at home.
I just got home from a weekend trip for which I had planned to wear mostly flare jeans and a cute top, but at the last minute, I put on my black overalls because they are comfier. I wore them with a black tank and my burgundy Docs, and I got compliments all day! Same reason, I suspect–simple, yet so clearly *me*.
As you have said, it is as much about how we feel in what we wear as what we are actually wearing. 💃✨️
