Ooooh, what a look! I’m so proud of this one! I tried something new — a long column skirt. Can’t remember the last time I wore one of these — possibly never? But I’m glad I’m giving it a try!
I surprised myself by pairing this skirt with chunky boots and a big leather jacket. I think it works because of the crop of the jacket and the shorter height of the boots.
Okay, full disclosure, I haven’t actually worn this outfit anywhere yet. And that’s because I haven’t decided if I’m going to keep this skirt. I truly love it. The fit is perfect, the print is perfect, everything is perfect — but you can see through it. I could put a slip underneath, but I’m concerned I’ll have to give a lot of attention to keeping the skirt just so. Womp, womp. I get that sheer skirts are having a moment, but I also want this skirt to work for my everyday life. Wearing a sheer skirt for drinks at night is a move — I’m less certain that a sheer skirt at the coffee shop at 7:15am is the move. LOL. So, I don’t know what I’m going to do. Wanna weigh in and help me decide?

LOVE this look for sure! However, go with your gut. I agree about sheer being in right now but if you’re uncomfortable I would say it’s a no. What’s the saying? If it’s not a hell yes then it’s a no. Maybe look for another in the same silhouette but without the sheerness.
You look fabulous in the skirt. Down side is the sheerness I say if you don’t love it 100% and don’t see your self wearing several time a month return it and find something else.
I think it is one of your best looks. The slip underneath makes it more modest, yet it is still trendy.
Since you love everything else about it, why not have a tailor add a lining to the skirt? That way you don’t have to fool with a separate slip and keeping it where it’s supposed to be. Separate slips are the WORST… 🥴
Yes!!! I concur 100%! Tailors are a lifesaver.
It’s pretty and flattering on you., but sometimes that’s not enough if there’s something about it that makes you uncomfortable. I would keep it for a couple weeks and see if it’s something you reach for. If you don’t, then I’d return it.
What about putting shorts under it? The kind that are meant to go under clothes, with a longer inseam?
I say it’s impractical LOLL but I also vote if you love it enough, try it with the slip, just find the right type that fits snugly – I’ve made a number of outfits (a skirt not moving right when I walked, a dress constantly falling down crevasses…😅 a top I didn’t want to wear see through…) become favourites with the magic of a slip … NEVER used to EVER be on team “these clothes need special undergarments” but now I tell myself it makes me intriguing and my wardrobe actually more versatile and functional in the end – keep the cake and eat it too 😂
The skirt doesn’t look that sheer on the pictures… Maybe the right question to ask oneself in this case is “Do I already have something like this in my closet?” and if the answer is no, then, it might be a good reason to keep it. Very inspiring outfit, by the way!
Love the look! Buy a nude to-the-knee slip, it won’t get in the way as much as a full length slip, but give you the coverage you need in certain areas. This would also look great in a resort town to pull on over your swimsuit w/sandles and straw bag/hat for those off beach little romps. I see a lot of options with this skirt – it can even be dressed up with a pair of heels and dressy tank in warmer months, and sleeker boots w/ slim long sleeve turtleneck in the winter. It’s a wardrobe freshening-up piece! I hope you keep it!
I recently donated a pair of pants that required very specific undergarments – I found it annoying and I was always fussing with the layers. It wasn’t worth it for me! I would likely feel the same way about the skirt – just my two cents. It does look great, though!
Definitely keep!! I love all of outfits but this is a 10/10 even among only yours.!!
I was even inspired to recreate your outfit for myself!
it looks great, of course, but it sounds like it’s already causing a lot of decision fatigue… :(
I’m not digging the skirt hitting at the same point as the boots. How is the skirt with sambas or dressier heels or flats?
Hi Caroline, I love, love, love this outfit on you! Everything is perfection: the fit, the proportions, the colors, the volume play, the juxtaposition of the maxi skirt with edgy, biker boots and Moto jacket!! And I love that the skirt is stretchy and comfy at the same time. You could try wearing your trusted biker shorts under or one of those fitted slips. Or maybe find another fitted stretchy skirt that is not sheer. But I LOVE this combo on you! I’m so inspired, I’m totally going to use this formula for my own capsule! Thanks so much for the inspo!!
Love the skirt, it would make a nice summer skirt
This is a FABulous look! To combat the sheerness of the skirt, maybe tights or leggings?
Podrías llevar la falda a una modista y que ella cosa un forro a tu falda en el mismo color.
Así la falda no va a transparentar y quedará preciosa para usar de noche y por la mañana.
P.S. I see there is a matching top, if still available, that would be a great mix and match piece. And worn w/skirt would make a stylish guest outfit for a wedding or for another special occasion. It seems like the skirt can go miles even without getting the top though. A great way to stretch your wardrobe and add a subtle print at the same time! It’s a no-brainer keeper IMHO!
Yes! Keep it; don’t overthink it. Wear it to coffee AND to drinks. Pretend u don’t even know u can see thru it as the layers and pattern are distracting. My two cents; LOVE IT!
I guess you have decided by now but for me this skirt is a big yes! It doesn’t even look see-through in the pictures and it is really faboulous. Please let us know what you decided :))
