(I’m out of town, so instead of our regular real-time outfits, enjoy a few older outfits I never got around to posting!)
You better believe I was elated when I realized my new favorite coat matched my old favorite jeans perfectly. Is it too much denim in one outfit? Some will say yes, some will say no — but I, the outfit wearer, think it’s just right for today.
Denim on denim is something I’ve been wearing since the inception of this blog, way back in 2014. (You guys, we are coming up on the TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY of Unfancy in March!!) Look at how 27-year-old-me styled double denim back then. Isn’t she cute? Sometimes I just want to give that younger version of me a big ol’ hug and tell her she’s doing great. <3
I like the way the Sambas bring this arguably ’00s look squarely into the ’20s. It’s amazing how a shoe will do that for you. If I would have styled this look with, say, a pointy toe boot, this look would have gone full blown aughts. Which wasn’t exactly the vibe I was going for.
However! You do you. After all, the most important thing is the opinion of the outfit wearer.
