Book a styling session with me. We’ll create new outfits using clothes you already have, and you won’t have to shop for a thing. Saturday dates now available!

I wore this the other day, while I buzzed around feeling energetic and getting stuff done.
Meanwhile today, the day I’m writing this post, I cannot even comprehend wearing this outfit (lol). I’m bloated and tired, and I would very much like to wear a blanket. Not a chance of me putting on a fitted crop top, though it is cute.
But isn’t that just how it goes? Something may work one day, but the next it doesn’t. I’m so fascinated by it.
This is why I love the process of getting dressed. It makes me stop for just a minute to check in with how I feel and what I need.
The answer is different every day, but it’s less about the answer and more about the act of checking in, connecting to my body, and taking a moment to acknowledge what’s going on inside me that day. Hopefully I can translate that into an outfit that meets those needs. But when I can’t, it’s still valuable that I took the time to try to connect with myself. <3

Love the two toned gray!
Love this post and the last one so much, Caroline. (Not that I love that you were feeling sad, etc., either day, but the grace and generosity and the way you describe choosing clothes as self-care and checking in–I just love your writing and this space.) Sending love.
I love this idea of getting dressed as a way checking in with ourselves. Never thought of it this way! What a naturally easy way to look at it.
It is funny how an outfit will work one day and not the next. While reading your post I actually realized how harshly I feel about myself when that happens…which is not necessary lol.
I love your light hearted approach and honesty! Thanks for the share!
