Denim cutoffs, a black tee, and Birkenstocks. It’s ultra basic, but this is one uniform I’ve returned to consistently the past 3 summers.
To me, it’s the tucked-in shirt that makes it feel special. It’s kind of rare that I do a full tuck these days, because I’m favoring tees that hit right at the top of my shorts instead of tuckable length tees. But the full tuck elevates this mellow, summer-camp look just a scooch.
I’m a big believer in leaning into your comfort + practical needs over anything else. My last pair of cutoffs was high rise — and if you’ve been around here for very long, you know that a high rise is super uncomfy for me. So this year, I upgraded my cutoffs to an Agolde pair that’s more of a mid rise. I’m so thrilled with them!

This outfit is perfect, I would wear it everyday of summer if I could. I mean, it looks so laid back and chill but still stylish.
Despite it looks great on you, for me, denim shorts aren’t the best either. I ended up replacing them for gym shorts or skorts and I love the way they don’t smash my stomach haha. Although sometimes I miss the visual of jeans shorts. Loved the post!
