DAILY OUTFITS

There I was, about to grab my trusty Nike shorts again when…

04/05/24

Worn on: Thursday, April 4

Okay, now we’re having fun. That hot pink baseball cap! That *ADORABLE* bow choker!!

This outfit came together so effortlessly that I almost don’t want to admit it. There I was, getting ready to pull out my trusty Nike Tempo shorts again, when this full on LEWK just CAME TO ME. It felt like I was playing Mario Kart and got the Super Star. What a high. I’m just gonna ride it all day.

Important question: Who’s your go-to Mario Kart character? Mine’s Waluigi.

Anyway.

What I love about this outfit is that it has so much PRESENCE! Volume, bright color, and cheeky little details. And yet, the most impactful pieces are remarkably noncommittal. You can easily remove the cap or necklace if you’re out and about and want to tone it down. And then you’re left with a pretty classic base — jeans and a button up shirt.

But the fact that the jeans and shirt are both baggy is everything to this outfit! It goes a long way in balancing out the hyper-cuteness of the pink cap and bow choker.

I’m a big fan of color repeating in an outfit, but I do like to do it in an offbeat way. The pink hat would be great on its own, but I feel like the pink button on my bag does a lot to tie everything together without being super obvious. Matching afterthought-y little details in an outfit (like a random button, bag charm, etc) is a way to pull a look together without doing the whole match-shoes-to-bag thing. (Which I still do sometimes, so no judgement.)

Don’t forget to drop your favorite MarioKart character. :)

I’ve always loved Yoshi, but after watching the most recent Super Mario movie my fave is Peach 💕💪🏾
P.S. I’m not a “bow girl” but I LOVE your choker!

This is probably my favorite outfit of yours in a long time. I love every piece together! Minus the flip flop, but I’m more of a Birkenstock gal myself.

And Cat Peach is the best Mario Kart character for me – MEOW!

This outfit is so lovely and happy, and you look so lovely and happy in it!

Do you have a source for your pink button? I love the message (and the color!).

Hi Ally! I got it from the Athenaeum Music and Arts Library in San Diego. HIGHLY recommend a visit if you’re ever in that area! They had these buttons there for free, but I wonder if you could email and ask them to mail you one (you could send a donation perhaps too)? Might be worth a shot!
