I am in a funk today and you can tell because I’m wearing my black parachute pants. If those are the pants I’m wearing, 80% of the time it’s because I’m feeling a little tender. There’s something comforting about how massive they are — I feel like I can hide in them. They also have some attitude and edge, which I’m always wishing for more of when I’m feeling down.
I’ve done plenty of good-for-me things today. I taught a yoga class with my full heart. I spent time with a friend. I talked to my mom. I ate nourishing food. I made progress on the book I’m excited to be reading.
And yet I’m still really emotional, really sad.
I just wanted to acknowledge it. I was trying to write a bouncy post, but it was sounding like ChatGPT had written it (Parachute pants are the best! That exaggerated leg brings so much drama!).
Still a cute outfit though. ;)

Hugs from GA. I’ve had a funky year full of highs and lows. It’s been a transition season and sometimes I feel I’m still trying to find my footing. I often think about how you’ve shared that you’re holding yourself gently and allowing yourself to feel your feelings, I’m sure you worded it better, but it’s comforted and encouraged me. PS – My wardrobe is built around comfortable pants. :)
It’s funny how some clothes (often oversized clothes, big sweaters or anything with a soft texture) bring comfort to us when we feel a bit down… Tomorrow will feel better, I’m sure 😀
Hoo, boy, Caroline, I get it. My heart goes out to you, and I am glad you are taking good care of yourself.
Because you have this platform, when you take care of yourself, you are also teaching us how to take care of ourselves and showing us why it is so important to do so. Thank you for your vulnerability. ❤️
Also, that outfit is 😍😍😍
I hope your day got better! Comfort clothes are the best.
Not to sound like the Grinch here, but I think the holiday season can be a melancholy time for a lot of us for a whole host of reasons. I have moments of joy and of peace in the season, but I also have moments of sadness and anxiety. I’ve decided to just accept these feelings as a natural part of the season too, an organic part of the end of one year and the shift into a new one. I think it helps when we can be open and vulnerable with each other because it gives us the opportunity to say, “yeah, me too.” So yeah, me too lately!
That purse is the best!
I’ve never seen this purse on your blog…must have missed it before.
Regardless, hope you are feeling better ✨💗
