Dress season!

It’s dress season!

If you’ve been around here for a while, you know I love my Christy Dawn dresses. Usually, with a Dawn dress, I let it stand on its own and don’t style it much (see this look from last spring as evidence). After all, Dawn dresses are so good at giving that beachy, organic girl vibe on their own. Sometimes it’s just nice to let a piece be what it is — especially when it already does its job so well.

But lately, I’ve been on a styling kick — I’m growing my styling skills and loving every moment of it. So I decided to lean in and do it up a bit more than usual.

A few quick styling notes:

It’s going to be warm today, but I still needed a jacket for the morning — this not-real-leather jacket works SO WELL with dresses thanks to that perfect crop. Love how it adds a bit of edge to the dress.
Still loving that texture play between straw and leather!
Nothing grounds a look like Birkenstocks.
A baseball cap adds sportiness that makes an outfit instantly feel like me. Plus the look was in need of color — love that saturated blue.
