You can tell by my skirt that my color this year is slime/lime green.
Followed closely by blue. Then burgundy, red, and pink. And…orange and lavender are sneaking in too.
Really, no color is off limits these days.
But even with this influx of color, my closet still feels incredibly mix-and-match-able. This is such a fun thing to discover, especially since I used to think neutrals were the only way to have a versatile closet.
Back in my capsule wardrobe days (2014-ish), I eschewed color and opted for neutrals because I thought they were easier to pair. But now I’m seeing that colors are just as easy to style.
What about you? Are you experimenting with more color these days? Or have you always been on the colorful track?

Interesting insight! Unfortunately I feel differently… I have basically two wardrobes, one around gray where I can add olive and beige and one wardrobe around blue (with white and gray basics from the other one. I feel that blue and olive is too colorful for me and blue and beige make me look old lol the problem is that when I go on vacation I have to decide which wardrobe to take and cannot take my favorite pieces… does this makes sense somehow?
Still a neutral girl. I express my love of color in my home decor with bright colors and wild patterns. I can take the time to carefully plan those. My wardrobe? I want quick and easy and when I bring in too much color or pattern I lose the quickness that I value.
What a great approach, Jen! I love that you’re in tune with what works best for you — isn’t that the ultimate goal? :)
I’m also a mostly neutrals girl who has been drawn to more color lately! I feel like it brightens both my face AND my mood! I’m mostly drawn to blues, red, and green. I’m curious if you’ve ever gotten your colors done? Color seasons were super popular when I was young in the early 90s and it’s so interesting to me that they’re having a big moment again!
