It’s a great day when I get to wear this sweater dress! It’s one of my absolute favorites from a couple years ago and I’m finally wearing it for the first time this season. Love to pair it with a nylon jacket for a more unfancy vibe.
I’ve been trying out some inexpensive Target and Amazon earrings lately. I’m curious to see if they hold up as well as my Jenny Bird or Madewell earrings. So far my Amazon hoops are holding up really well! Unfortunately, the Target earrings I’m wearing today seem like they aren’t going to last long. I only got them a week ago and it feels like the two hoops are about to break apart. So I probably wouldn’t recommend these. Womp womp. They are so adorable that it makes me want to find a similar pair that’s higher quality. Of course Jenny Bird has a similar pair. Jenny Bird always gets it right, much to my wallet’s chagrin.
Also, I’m having a moment with simple black cord chokers. Today I’m actually just wearing my Allyon pendant backwards so it looks like a choker. But I think I may try my hand at making one. And by making one, I do mean buying leather cord from a craft store, cutting off a piece, and calling it a choker. Hey, why overcomplicate it? :)

This outfit looks great on you!
And the choker works! I have a choker I made for myself with small black beads after the elastic string they were on when I bought the necklace broke. I was fortunate to be able to corral the beads, and I strung them on a thin wire. This was literally in the late 90s and I have had it since. Wearing it makes me happy.
Hi! I just looked up your blog with the intention of sending a message and asking you to post again only to find you already are!! Yay!! I followed your blog several years ago and I love your styles and read all of your articles! Just fangirling over here lol ❤️
I just started buying jewelry on AliExpress. Sounds scary but when you realize everything is $5 from China anyway, why not get something that’s real silver whilst cutting out the middleman? My favorite brands on there are Modian, Horripal, and Thaddaeus. Check it out, you’ll love it.
Ahhh the Target hoops. I’m an earrings girl; my grandmother was a jeweler and I have so much stuff from her I rarely buy anything. I’m not wanting for earrings! But I bought a three pack of huggies in different sizes at Target a few years back and loved them until they started to tarnish. I really wanted a small simple pair that I could wear all the time and not think about them. So I got two of those 14k gold huggies from Quince, the ones they sell in singles. They’re exactly what I wanted! Not substantial or sculptural like yours, but what you might call nap earrings.
