Happy Thursday! Settle in for a chatty post, I’ve got fun things to share.
Nothing like flowers in the spring. I could photograph them all day long.
Current playlist: Morning Coffee Spring ’22. I’m so excited to share this playlist with you! I made this relaxing playlist to evoke the feeling of being on a holiday somewhere far away. Bossa nova is a prominent theme, plus some 70’s tunes, some modern songs, and a bit of lofi/chillhop mixed in. You’ll hear artists like Paul McCartney, Stan Getz, and Gabor Szabo. I hope you enjoy!
Current fav album: Lucid by Raveena. A sweet and sensual daydream of an album. It feels like spring ushered in with soft, shimmering R&B.
Currently watching: HBO’s The Gilded Age. If you were into Downton Abbey, you’ll probably love this show — both were created by Julian Fellowes. It’s such a visual treat. I recommend listening to the companion podcast too — I’m loving the peek behind the scenes and the extra dose of historical insight.
Currently reading: Dress Codes: How the Laws of Fashion Made History by Richard Thompson Ford. I cannot think of a book that has delighted and enthralled me more. Richard Thompson Ford, a law professor and cultural critic, explores fashion and its ever-changing meaning from the middle-ages to present day. It is fascinating and quickly becoming one of my favorite books.
Finding a rainbow on the wall one morning.
Favorite recent beauty find: Static Nails. Well, well, well. This “never-been-a-nails-person” has changed her tune, and how refreshing that’s turned out to be! Static nails are reusable pop-on nails applied with non-damaging glue that dissolves over time.
- Shape: Round is my favorite shape for everyday wear. They are a great length if you prefer shorter nails like I do, and I usually trim the thumb nail down a bit after applying — makes phone things easier. For special events, I go with the coffin shape.
- Color: Fetish is a gorgeous barely there pink — my go-to for everyday neutral nails. Toasted Sugar is my favorite neutral brown. And Willow (a soft lilac) is fun and pretty for spring.
- Opacity: I recommend choosing nails that are semi-sheer to full coverage — it makes application easier and you don’t have to worry about air bubbles showing through the nail.
Current fav tea: Rishi Lavender Mint | As spring comes closer, I’ve been enjoying this one as an occasional afternoon treat or in the evenings before bed. It’s so soothing.
Keep looking up. Another iPhone snap.
Current fav self-care ritual: Daily walks. I always enjoy long walks around the neighborhood and park, but I’m especially loving it now that spring is on the horizon. I’m carefully watching the trees, looking for a sign of a new bloom. None spotted yet, but it’s only a matter of time, and I can’t wait for that first sighting!
Favorite recent clothing purchase: The Favorite Pant by Favorite Daughter (available in beige, navy pinstripe, and black). These are high waisted trousers with just the right amount of drama. The look and proportions are so right. But it’s the QUALITY that has me singing praises. The fabric is substantial with a gorgeous weight and drape and it doesn’t wrinkle easily. I take a size 4 and had mine tailored so that I could wear them with flat sandals and sneakers. (Nice to know: if you purchase from Nordstrom and have a Nordstrom card, you get complimentary tailoring.) Check them out if you’re in the market for a trouser.
Current style vision: With warmer weather right around the corner, I’ve been assessing my wardrobe for spring, planning for updates here and there. I’m really drawn to sporty pieces mixed with classic pieces, all styled with an overarching minimalist aesthetic and an emphasis on comfort. I’m still favoring neutrals, but I’m also really enjoying soft greens and blues these days.
Current blogging vision: I’m so happy to be back in this space after my hiatus. I’m enjoying taking things in a new visual direction on the blog — like shooting outfit photos in a studio and trying out a different editing style. I’ve even got a new header/logo coming soon. All of these small changes represent the current me, and it’s exciting to see it take shape. To really shake out the cobwebs (or the blogwebs, hah), I’ve got something fun in the works for March — outfit posts almost every day, woohoo!

And there you have it! Thanks for being here.
What about you? Got any favorite albums, books, or shows to share? What’s your favorite act of self-care right now? How’s your style vision shaping up for spring? I’d love to hear.
No new post next Thursday, but I’ll see you again on March 1st!
xo,
Hi! thanks for sharing. Will check the music now :)
Glad you are back and doing well! Happy to get inspiration ❤️
Welcome back C 👏certainly a whole new sharing style 👐keep it up 👍
I’m just so dang happy your blog is back and also you have a new spring playlist. I still listen to your older ones. Looking forward to a month of outfit posts!
I absolutely LOVE your playlists! I still listen to your Feel Good Fall 2017 playlist every year when the weather starts turning here in Georgia. So good!
So, so glad you’re back. I’ve missed your posts, and I’m so happy you took a break for you!
Television: My husband and I have been watching through the series West Wing for the first timer ever and we’re nearing the end. It’s been so good and I’m convinced it’s turn out to be a touch prophetic as well, HA!
Books: Loving making time for reading–especially books by Ruth Ware if you’re into thriller/mystery books.
Self-Care: Self-care for me lately looks like saying “no” to things and freeing up more free time. I work full time as a corporate graphic designer and part time as a freelancer, and saying no to freelance clients has been liberating in this season of life.
I literally saved or followed everything you posted about lol. Very excited for the new music to play on a Saturday Sunday morning, that delicious tea and the gilded age! I did not realize it had come out!! Yay! I wish it was a little warmer and less snowy here in Colorado so I too could enjoy those walks ha ha.
Second comment ha ha. About those nails… I’m not one for nails myself but maybe it would be fun for a wedding I have this summer. Curious how well do they stay on? I am very low maintenance in the nail department:-)
Hi Jessica! They stay on super well! I err on the side of putting more glue which helps. Mine typically stay on for two weeks (and I don’t baby them) and I’ve only had one pop off unexpectedly — even then it was super easy to glue back on. Definitely check out Static Nail’s FAQ section for application tips — they have great info. Hope that helps! :) xo, C
LOVE Gabor Szabo! We have collected I think all (or nearly all) of his original albums on vinyl.
I’m so happy you’re back in this space. There’s something serene about a blog post in the hectic world of instant stories and tictocs and whatnot.
Just a random question: is it better to click to your blog post instead of reading the post on my email (which I usually do) to show some love and help support your blog?
This 👍👍 feel the same way!
Welcome back, we missed you! : D
Agree w the comments. So nice to have your back Caroline! Excited and appreciative to have a peek into your transformation. I think many people are doing it or thinking about it. So your example is motivating.
So glad you’re back! I definitely missed your blog!

Great to have you back! You were missed! Your mindful way of life and your beautiful home really inspired me. I went back to reading older posts, which is always delightful but this is even better. Hooray!!
