Hello! Happy last day of February — spring is right around the corner!
Before we jump into March, let’s take a look back. Today I’m sharing my favorite outfits of February and five key observations I’ve made about my style this month.
Taking a moment to reflect on my style always helps me clarify what’s working and what’s not working, and sometimes the discoveries are surprising!
Feel free to do this with your own closet in the coming month — snap photos of your outfits as often as you can and then take a few moments to review them at the end of the month.
Let’s get into it!

5 KEY STYLE OBSERVATIONS FROM FEBRUARY
Looking at the outfits above, I see a few common themes:
1 | White Tees | There’s a white tee in every single one of these outfits (whether you can see it or not)!
In my early days of wardrobe building, I would avoid purchasing duplicates of the same item because I wanted to get more variety into my wardrobe. Totally valid and this can be a good practice.
But at this point in my wardrobe building journey, I feel less drawn to variety for variety’s sake. Instead, I’m clear on what I need to have a well-functioning wardrobe — and that includes a robust collection of white tees.
Moving forward into spring, it’s time to refresh some of my worn-out white tees, so I’m planning to designate a chunk of my spring budget here.

2 | Layering Pieces | My style may be understated, but these outfits are far from one-note thanks to the layering pieces.
Long wool coats, cozy cardigans, sporty jackets, and relaxed blazers played a large role in my February wardrobe.
Moving into spring, I’ll be putting my heavier coats into storage, but I know I’ll still be wearing my cozy cardigans and blazers. I’ll also be getting my poplin button up shirts out of storage as a warm weather layering option.

3 | Loose Jeans | Once I found my holy grail of loose jeans — the AGolde Lana jeans — I’ve never looked back. I haven’t had good luck with AGolde jeans in the past, but somehow these are PERFECT. Bury me in these jeans.
This month, I wore the Lanas in 3 different colors — blue, white, and black. Last year, I prioritized them in my budget and took my time, purchasing them slowly over the course of several months. WOW they’ve made my wardrobe so functional and enjoyable!
Moving into spring, I feel completely happy and set with my jeans, since I prioritized them in my budget last year. No new purchases planned. Can’t wait to pair them with flip flops and tees.

Fit note: I have a 27in waist and 37in hip. I wear a 27 in the Lanas. They fit loose and slouchy which is what I wanted. Size down if you want a tighter fit.

4 | Flat Shoes | Sneakers and Birkenstock Boston clogs were my most favored shoes this month.
I didn’t feel much like putting my feet into cute boots or heels this winter. The casual vibe of sneakers and Birkenstocks are more in line with my personal style anyway. Plus, my feet were so happy to have support and comfort this winter.
Moving into spring, I’ll eventually swap my Birkenstock Boston clogs for Birkenstock Arizona sandals. They are such high quality, still going strong, and I can’t wait to use them for seasons to come. Can’t wait to continue wearing my sneakers with shorts too.

5 | A Few Select Accessories | Socks, repetitive jewelry, and baseball caps gave my outfits dimension and interest this month.
I love the idea of repetitive jewelry. Wearing the same pieces daily begins to make each piece feel like a part of me. With repeat wears, the jewelry begins to accumulate personal significance and meaning. They feel more like treasures than a trend.
Moving forward into spring, I’m excited to continue wearing my daily jewelry, and I’m hoping to add a new pair of silver earrings to the mix.

Target Socks | $7 for a 3-pack
Madewell Broken In Baseball Cap | sun protection for spring
Mejuri Thin Dome Rings | stack two and wear them daily

Overall, these outfits have very little flash on the outside, but speaking from inside the experience of wearing them, they are exactly what I want. Comfortable and casual, yet with a strong point of view that feels minimal, relaxed, and intentional.
I’d love to hear if you have any takeaways from your own personal style this month. Anything you found yourself wearing over and over again? Anything you notice working (or not working) in your wardrobe right now? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
I’m so excited that spring is on the horizon and I can’t wait to explore spring style here on the blog with you.

I love your relaxed, modest style. It feels so refined without looking too mature / old! I’m not trying to look like I’m 22 when I’m 40 :-). Love your posts!
I enjoyed all your posts so much this month – thanks!
Love all the layering ideas. Cute hat and I want some of those jeans and cardigans!
I like your style. It is not so “loud” and yet very beautiful and elegant. Good choices!
I’ve been wearing yoga pants everyday. I used to be the jeans girl, but after the pandemic, all I can wear is yoga pants, despite I LOVE how jeans looks, I just don’t find it comfortable anymore. I love seeing how your style changed and evolved, and I’ve learned so much from you. Nowadays, my style is a bit different from yours, but yet I have a lot of inpirations from your outfits, so thanks for sharing them :)
Hi Caroline,
Your posts are always an inspiration. Are you still upsizing to a medium in your white tees? I normally wear an xs in Everlane.
Thanks Leah! Yes, I’m wearing a M in all my Everlane tees these days. I do feel like they shrink a touch in the dryer so eventually I feel like they end up fitting more like a small.
