Well, we’ve got one week ’til Thanksgiving! Aaron and I have lots of family time on the docket, and when it comes to family holiday hangs, I’m all about comfort and ease. Give me an outfit that’s put together but oh-so-comfortable for hanging around the house all day too.
So today I’m sharing 3 easy, cozy, holiday outfits, featuring 3 of my favorite Everlane sweaters.
This post is sponsored by Everlane and all Everlane items I’m featuring in this post were gifted. I’m thrilled to partner with a company that places high value on transparency and sustainable practices. And don’t forget, if you see something you like you can shop it and support my blog at the same time by using the affiliate links throughout this post.
1 | The Oversize Alpaca Crew
One word: TEXTURE. This sweater abounds in texture and I’m here for it. That gorgeous, slightly fuzzy, alpaca texture with that modern rib pattern — it’s got a luxe look and feel.
I’m not typically a person who subscribes to the whole “buy multiples in different colors” thing, but for this sweater, I made an exception. I have it in almond, heather black, pamona green, and charcoal twist. It’s turning out to be my favorite, most versatile sweater in my closet. Lately, I’ve been wearing ’em at least once or twice a week.
Tip: Layer a soft, long sleeve top or bodysuit underneath for extra warmth, and to nix any itch-factor. (Because yes, on it’s own, it’s a little itchy.)
For this slouchy look (which I’m loving SO MUCH right now) I sized up to a Large. That’s my favorite trick to make Everlane sweaters look a little more designer — size up.

2 | The Teddy Crewneck Sweater
This is such a fresh and happy little sweater! The teddy texture is so soft and it gives off a little bit of a playful vibe — so good for family time.
Lately, my ultra high rise jeans have been feeling uncomfortable, so I’ve turned to my looser, slightly lower-rise boyfriend jeans. They are a welcome change of pace, and they are especially welcome around holiday mealtime.
Next, I added a loose, untucked sweater on top. I love the slouch-on-slouch vibe and the way it highlights the texture and drape of the fabric. To me, it really freshens up a jeans and tee look.
I adore a good tone-on-tone look so I layered a matching scarf on top (in the softest cashmere you can imagine). And finally, to finish the look, nothing energizes an outfit like white boots.
All in all, this is one neutral, simple outfit that’s far from boring — layered tones, statement boots, and all that texture. Who says dressing in neutrals is dull? ;)

3 | The ReCashmere Stroopwafel Turtleneck
Oooh I just want to let this cashmere turtleneck cocoon me all day. For a chill day with family, it doesn’t get cozier than this. It feels like a cloud, and it’s made from premium Italian yarn that’s been recycled for 50% less impact — that means it’s just as soft and beautiful as 100% Grade-A cashmere, but with half the carbon footprint.
I was planning to style this outfit more like loungewear or PJs, but as I was putting it all together, I tried on the boots and immediately loved the vibe. It turns out, these cashmere joggers can actually pass as (very casual) pants. I mean, look at how beautifully they drape. Add a long wool coat on top and a cute bag, and I’d even wear this outfit out to dinner.
At the moment, it looks like the turtleneck is sold out, but it’ll be restocked on Dec. 14th.

And there you have it! Thanks for reading and being here. :)
So tell me, what do you like to wear to your family gatherings? Does comfort come first, or do you dress up a bit more? Do you have a go-to holiday outfit formula or color palette? I’d love to hear about it! Let me know in the comments below.
xo,
Oh those are such warm and cozy sweaters. I need to buy more warmer ones as it is so cold here in the Netherlands.
l love your style. I have been a true minimalist since the sixties. I have truly perfected my home and wardrobe to hit the perfect style for me. I have discovered through much trial and error and the wasting of time and money what truly works. Good quality clothing that can be mixed and matched for years . By the way I just turned 68 three days ago. I have discovered that I wear jeans and comfortable dresses exclusively. I augment my style with shoes and sweaters. All cool shoes and great sweaters to perfectly fitting jeans and dresses explodes my possibilities. I am teaching my granddaughters to adopt a style for themselves and to stop chasing cheap throwaway clothing. I know this is long but I thought you might like to hear from someone who is older, wiser and still wants a cool vibe. Eileen Petersen. Have a great holiday season .
Eileen! Thanks for sharing this story! You give me hope that I can hone in on the things that make me happy so I can shed the rest. I love that you are teaching your granddaughters about true style, quality and sustainability. Happy holidays to you! May it be filled with only the things that make you truly happy.
Eileen, I can’t begin to express my gratitude to know you’re a venerable woman who still wears jeans. I’m 33 and feel like I’ve only found my sense of style since hitting my 30s, but then I started worrying what I was going to do as the decades pass. Can a more senior woman still wear jeans?! These are silly, first world thoughts I realise, but your comment proved to me that it really shouldn’t, and hopefully won’t matter when I get to be your age. Thank you :)
Just now I saw a woman in her mid 70s strolling down the street in flare jeans and blue suede heel booties. #stylegoals. I’m also in my 30s but follow @iconaccidental if you want all your fashion vs age myths busted :)
Thanks for sharing such wisdom!
So cozy!! I see a couple things for my wish list. ?
We keep I casual on my side of the family, but my in-law dress up a bit more, so I get a mix of both.
As far as colors go, red and rusty- brown has been a favorite combo the last couple years! Unexpected but works really well together.
Love these casual comfy looks! And the tip to size up on sweaters. Holidays are very casual in my family, so I will be dressing comfy.
So happy to see a new post! I’ve taken your advice about sizing up with sweaters and I love it, so modern and comfy. I already have the black cashmere sweatpants but might need them in gray this year too… Thanks for the new outfit ideas, I love how your style has evolved lately.
I am all about the comfort factor for my family gatherings. I need to be able to eat, drink and play with my niece and nephew all day long! I love all your looks, especially the last one with the cashmere sweats!
I love that rust brown color! So perfect for this time of year.
I love all three!!!
I would add any of these to my regular wardrobe. For Thanksgiving though, I have to wear something lighter than a sweater as all that cooking and a full house etc gets very hot & sweaty!
Where is that gorgeous scarf from?!?
It’s also from Everlane :) https://rstyle.me/+TFHDtB9t0uJHltk3CKMioQ
So funny to see the dutch word Stroopwafel appering in your post…had to check again if I was following a Dutch or Us blogger :)
Groetjes Romanie
Oh, I love me some Everlane! That turtleneck is DIVINE; I’ll have to purchase it once it’s back in stock. I always enjoy your posts. Keep it up, and enjoy the Christmas season!
I was looking at sweaters on the Jenni Kayne website. They look like your style. Especially the caramel colored ones. Have you ever purchased from this company?
Cute! Thank you for posting this is sponsored content at the beginning. I’m sick of people not doing that. There’s nothing I can afford at Everlane (even on sale) but I’ll for these pieces in the thrift store.
