Outfits: Spring

styling baggy jeans

03/08/22

Another green outfit! A slightly darker shade this time, but still desaturated.

And how about those jeans? Baggy, ripped, with a pooling hemline — they go all the way and I respect it. Sometimes you gotta zig even though you usually zag.

To balance out the jeans, I put a structured blazer on top. While I can definitely get behind a dramatic, oversized blazer, this look called for something a little more mild. So this blazer is neither too fitted nor too oversized. I love finding those perfect, middle-of-the-road pieces that feel modern but not too trendy.

I am so glad to have you back in my inbox!! Any styling notes on what shoes you chose and why? I have the same jeans and always struggle to find a shoe that I like with them…

    Thanks so much!

Hi Nora! Thank you for your kind words! When I wear something so oversized, I like to balance it with something more fitted, or in the case of a shoe, something a little more dainty or delicate. I went with a delicate strappy heel here to contrast the oversized jeans and I really liked the way it ended up. I hope that helps!

I can’t wear ripped jeans to work, and the pooling hemline doesn’t work since I live in WA and it rains…a LOT…the hem/cuff would constantly be wet & dirty from dragging on the ground.
I love this outfit tho, and I have switched it up with some loose fitting black waxy jeans and a sparkly top with a velvet blazer for work today!
    Love the outfit inspiration!
