I tried the 2×2 outfit formula and it works!

You know me — I’m always up for a good wardrobe/outfit challenge (capsule wardrobes, 10×10 challenge, etc). So when I heard about TikTok’s 2×2 outfit formula, I jumped at the chance to try it out — even though I’m not even on TikTok. :-P

The concept? Create a killer outfit by combining 2 dressy pieces and 2 casual pieces into one look.

For this look, I grabbed two dressy items — a beautiful, striped button down shirt and a structured handbag. Then I grabbed two casual items — Nike running shorts and slide sandals.

Put them all together and WOO! This fit feels fresh! Super understated, super casual, but it’s got energy. That stripe on stripe play gets me. And that fancy little purse thrown in? Perfect counterbalance. Plus, I felt inspired to reach for some pieces I haven’t worn in a while — it’s always nice to see old favorites in a new light.
