When I consider my personal style, one of the most important feelings I want from my clothes is the feeling of sprightliness.
Bet you didn’t see that word coming. :)
Sprightliness might sound like an odd thing to ask of clothes, but I want clothes that feel light and lively, both physically and energetically.
Especially in the spring.
Because once the weather is nice, I’m outside a lot.
I sit in the grass or on dusty picnic tables. I stick my feet in ponds or pools. I go on impromptu walks. And I don’t want what I’m wearing to deter me from doing these things.
There’s a little bit of whimsy and wonder in spontaneously sprawling out in the grass — I want clothes that encourage those moments to happen.
Clothes that definitely do this for me? Pretty much this outfit. Bike shorts. Loose tees. Comfortable sneakers. An oversized cardigan made of natural fibers that can ward off a chill if need be. Ooh, and fun, carefree hair!
And yes, in case you’re wondering, wearing mostly black still gives me that lively feeling because I know I don’t have to worry about getting things dirty.
What’s an important feeling you want from your clothes?

Yes! This word is perfect. As a teacher, I want clothes that are easy to move in all of the time. Black is always a winner, because classrooms can be a tricky place to keep clothes clean. Love your style and your posts!
