Taking a moment to reflect on my style each month always helps me clarify what’s working and what’s not working — sometimes the discoveries are surprising!
So let’s take a quick look back at my favorite 11 outfits from March.

5 KEY STYLE OBSERVATIONS FROM MARCH
1 | I’m reaching for comfortable footwear over all else.
Choosing comfortable footwear makes such a profound positive impact on my day. I’m still favoring sneakers, Birkenstocks, and flip flops — both for the comfort factor, and the look.
For sneakers, I’m loving the Adidas CLs, Converse Hi Top Chuck Taylors, and Adidas Sambas right now.
Moving forward, I want to start looking for a replacement pair of black flip flops — my current pair is getting pretty old and I want to have a replacement on hand and ready to go. There’s one more shoe I’m considering adding this spring — keep reading to find out what it is!
2 | Turns out, I do wear color! :)
I don’t style color in a loud way, but when I look at these photos, color is definitely there — that green stripe button down, my green ball cap, and that blue button down.
Blues and greens are what I’m most drawn to right now, and it’s been fun to lean into that in a low-key way.
Moving forward, I’m excited to add a couple more green and blue pieces into my wardrobe. I’m looking for a green sweatshirt and I kind of want a pair of green converse hi tops!
3 | Denim is my go-to — but that’s about to shift a little.
Jeans are my go-to all year round, but as it begins to warm up, I do start favoring lightweight pull-on pants and shorts.
For pull on bottoms, I like having a classic option (preferably something in linen or silk) and a sporty option (my favorite is the Lululemon Speed Up Shorts I’m wearing in outfit 3).
Also! I’m happy to report I found the PERFECT pair of white parachute pants! From American Eagle — sometimes AE just comes through with the good stuff! These are streamlined and minimal, plus the white is NOT see through!
Moving forward, I want to move my pull on pants and shorts to the front of my closet to remind myself that I have this comfy, breezier option.
4 | Dress weather is coming back! Time to take inventory of the dresses in my closet.
I only wore one dress in March — the weather hasn’t been quiiiiite right for breezy dresses, just yet. But dress weather is on the horizon! And, I know myself — I LOVE a good dress in the warmer months.
Moving forward, I’m excited to take inventory of the dresses I already have, and play around with new ways to style them.
5 | My favorite layering pieces for spring are boyfriend cardigans, sweatshirts, and oversized poplin button downs.
Back-and-forth spring weather calls for layering options. My boyfriend cardigan is perfect for chilly days, my sweatshirts are perfect for mild days, and my poplins are ideal for warm days.
Moving forward, I’m excited to play around with creative layering. Do you have any other go-to layering options for spring?

I’d love to hear if you have any takeaways from your own personal style this month. Anything you found yourself wearing over and over again? Anything you notice working (or not working) in your wardrobe right now? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
In case you missed it, I posted my spring capsule wardrobe in March — have a look!

I love your casual, comfy, sporty style these days. Lately my go-to layering piece has been jean jackets in various shades of blue, grey, or black. They’re perfect for our Texas version of cooler weather.
Hi Melody! I need to get back into jean jackets — great idea!
This sounds crazy but sweatshirts over a dress! I was an extra in a TV series and I was playing around with outfits with the stylist one day and she picked a denim mini with a chunky sweater that I had brought. I’d never combined them like that at home but now I’m hooked! I had to smile when you posted a sweatshirt over a dress this month! It works!!!
It definitely works! :) And how cool! I love it when unexpected combos work.
I have been following along for some ime now. And the simplicity of your style is a real eye opener in that I have been dialing back my own closet, decluttering and slowly changing my own style. Baseball caps are not a thing over here but I’m able to follow along by shopping my own closet and feel happy, relaxed and more confident.
Thank you for following for so long Isa! <3
Lately, I’ve found myself wearing striped tees a lot— also sling bags, sneakers, statement denim, and oversized button ups shirts. Not all at once, of course. : )
Oooh tell me more about this statement denim! What’s your go-to?
