This post is sponsored by Everlane and I’m thrilled to be working with them. When it comes to brands I’m proud to work with, they are at the very top — Everlane was one of the very first responsible brands I learned about quite a few years back, and I’m proud to partner with a company that places high value on transparency and sustainable practices.

Today is the day — Everlane is launching their first-ever jumpsuits! I got to try out the linen apron-style jumpsuit and am excited to share my thoughts with you. Today I’ll share:
- Thoughts on the fit
- Thoughts on the fabric
- How I’m styling it
- Plus! 6 extra styling ideas
Let’s jump in!
Thoughts on the Fit
There are several thoughtful details that allow for a customized fit:
- Elastic back: One of my favorite details about this jumpsuit is the elastic back. It makes getting it on and off a breeze, plus I think it’s a sweet little detail that further gives it a casual, beachy look. I’m drawn to elastic more and more these days — it just makes everything so comfortable and forgiving.
- Adjustable straps: I was so happy to find this thoughtful little detail. The thick straps have several button holes to adjust the fit to your liking.
- Optional belt: I love the way the belt can change the fit of this jumpsuit. Depending on the look you’re going for, the belt can take the jumpsuit from day to night, casual to dressy.
My fit info: I’m 5’5″ tall with a 30″ bust, 26″ waist, 38″ hip. I got a 0 (my typical dress size at Everlane) and found it fit just right. I’d say it runs true to size.
Thoughts on the Fabric
You probably already know how much I love wearing linen. It seems that half of my wardrobe in the warmer months is made up of linen. The linen Everlane used for this jumpsuit has a soft, fluid feel — and based on previous experience with linen, I have no doubt it will only continue to soften and break in.
Does it wrinkle? Yes. As with most any linen I’ve ever tried, it does wrinkle throughout the day. I typically don’t mind wrinkly linen, because it communicates this deliciously relaxed vibe that’s perfect for the mornings, weekends, vacation, chill time, etc. However, I wanted to get more use out of this jumpsuit — I wanted to be able to dress it up a little too. So I opted for the black color where the wrinkling isn’t quite as noticeable.
If you’re looking for an option that won’t wrinkle as much, try out one of their new GoWeave jumpsuits. As much as I love linen for my own lifestyle, the GoWeave fabric is seasonless and much more office appropriate.
Styling Ideas
Here I went for a little more of a retro 60’s inspired look — and I LOVE the way it turned out. The apron jumpsuit. The wedge heels. The headband. The polka dots. It feels retro, but still in line with my style.
You probably know how much I love repeating tones in one outfit to pull it together — here I went with white, echoing it with white shoes, a white headband, and the white background of the scarf.
Of course I had to throw in a couple of warm neutrals too, to give everything a softer, more organic feel. The straw bag. The brown polka dot scarf. The gold earrings. I love how much dimension they add to the look.
The jumpsuit comes with a matching belt, and I love having the option to belt it…or not. In these photos, I decided I liked it better without the belt. It feels modern, interesting, and unexpected.
A few other styling ideas:
- Pop a white or tan tee underneath for a different look.
- Dress it up with the matching belt, minimal black heels, and statement earrings.
- Wear unbelted with flip flops for vacation vibes.
- Try a vintage belt with it.
- Pair it with white sneakers.
- Style it with a long linen duster, perhaps in tan or soft yellow.

And there you have it! Thank you so much for reading. I’m glad you’re here. :)
So tell me, what’s your favorite way to style a jumpsuit these days? Do you think you’ll give one of Everlane’s new jumpsuits a try? And don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions about the fit or fabric.
xo,
Love it!
Just ordered one! Thanks so much for this review.
Love this post Caroline! You are seriously a talented photographer! I have a question about the jumpsuit! Do you think the straps are wide enough to hide a bra strap or do you just have to automatically go with a strap less bra? Thanks!
Hi Lauren! Thank you so much for your kind words! The straps are definitely wide enough to hide bra straps. :)
So pretty! I would love to buy a jumpsuit, but so far the ones I’ve tried have not fit me as I am long-waisted. Do you think the Everlane might work?
Hi Kelly! I hear ya — this has happened to me with jumpsuits before. I have a sliiightly longer torso than average, and it worked for me. Maybe it will work for you too! :)
On the fence about this one, just because my proportions are weird for most jumpsuits. When you sit, does it tug across the hips? And does it puff out around the belly?
Hi Krystal! I hear you — jumpsuit fits can be hit or miss. I was happily surprised to discover this one does not tug around the hips when I sit (and I’m slightly pear shaped, with wider hips). It does puff a little around the midsection depending on how you’re sitting/standing. I hope that helps a bit! :)
Thank you for this write-up! My one gripe is the inseam length. For us tall girls (I’m 5’9”) the oh-so-popular cropped length in denim and this jumpsuit, tends to hit at the most unflattering part of the calf. And unfortunately, Everlane still does not offer “tall” sizing. So even though I think my body type could totally rock a jumpsuit, (and who doesn’t love linen??!), this is yet another Everlane no-go for me. Boo ;(
I totally hear you Vee! It’s happened to me before too and it’s definitely frustrating. I’m sorry this one won’t work out for you this time. Hopefully they’ll add Tall sizing soon!
Agreed! I’m another one of those tall girls…6 ft actually with most of my height in my legs. And I can’t make myself try anything from Everlane (even though I’ve had carts filled a few times!), because I just know they won’t fit properly on me. Made harder because I live in Canada, and so I know returns would probably be a hassle. So many retailers are offering tall options these days, and though I would love to try shopping at more responsible brands, unfortunately my business will go to those who offer those tall sizes for now! It’s too bad.
Oo this gets me so excited! Love this post Caroline. Do you think this would work for short and petite? I’m a size 00/0 and usually a 24/25 pant. But only 5’ tall. Would this be an easy hem?
Hi Abby! The only thing I might be concerned about is the torso length, so I’d suggest measuring your torso. I have a 30 inch torso and it fit great — not too tight, not too loose. Other than that, hemming the length of the pant would be super quick and easy. :) I think it might be worth a try!
Where are you measuring too and from for a torso measurement? I also concerned about the cropped trouser … being 5′ 3″ … will it make me look stumpy!!?
Hi Claire! I used this guide ( http://bit.ly/2wjgKcl ) for measurements. And as far as the pant fit, it’s always hard to tell online, but keep in mind that you can always have your local tailor hem them to your desired length, if needed. I hope that helps a bit! :)
Thank you! I measured and my torso is 27″. I think i will give it a go … i live in Greece so the delivery/return could be a nightmare!
I love your post.I would like to try this once.Thank you for such an amazing post.
Thanks for this beautiful and whimsical review! I love jumpsuits, and am slowly curating a closet that is full of ethical pieces I can wear many ways. I’ve been eying Vettas jumpsuit, and I was wondering which one, between this one and that one, you feel is more versatile and flattering? Its a big help! I live in Germany these days, so I always rethink and rerethink orders before committing. Thanks!
Hi Talia! Hm, that’s a great question! I think the Vetta jumpsuit may be more versatile since the fabric and cut can read dressier than the Everlane fabric and cut. I hope that helps! :)
Hello, Caroline! Just passing by to say that I really like your blog! The jumpsuit looks fabulous. I live in a hot place, and also love wearing linen.
Love! I recently bought the Reformation dress you blogged about and I love it. Where is your little woven bag from?
Hi Sarah! That Ref dress is such a good one! This won’t be much help, but the woven bag is vintage. Maybe you’ll stumble across a similar one! :)
I am so confused by the appeal of jumpsuits… Do you have to take the top off and pull it all the way down to go to the bathroom? Doesn’t seem like a useful or versatile piece at all.
Haha I hear you Monica! Yes, visiting the bathroom in a jumpsuit is interesting. I always just use it as an opportunity to have a good laugh. :) Some people love jumpsuits, some people don’t. To each their own.
I am living for jumpsuits right now! I love the items I have from Everlane (sadly only three at this point) and I think this looks like a great investment! Love the way you’ve styled it, as always.
