Yep. You’ve seen it before, you know it well. This is one of my go-to outfit formulas:
Denim + white tee + black layer on top.
That top black layer might be a big wool coat like in this post, a cashmere cardigan like in this post, or a crisp and cool Poplin button down for warmer days like in today’s post.
It works no matter the season, and I always feel like myself in it.
Poplin shirts have become a staple in my wardrobe, especially for the warmer months. They are such an easy way to get that “third piece” into an outfit — which can be challenging to do when it’s warm out. Nobody wants to be sweating in layers when it’s 90ºF out. But poplin is crisp and breezy and super lightweight, so I can wear it all spring + summer long.

I love this idea, Caroline! I live in a hot and humid climate but love a layered look (and often need that layer inside with AC!). But it’s also always SO HOT. This feels like a great and chic compromise.
