This post is sponsored by Everlane and all Everlane items I’m featuring in this post were gifted. When it comes to brands I’m proud to work with, Everlane is at the very top — they were one of the very first responsible brands I learned about quite a few years back and I’m thrilled to partner with a company that places high value on transparency and sustainable practices.
LOOK 1
If you see something you like, you can shop it and support my blog at the same time using the affiliate links below.
Styling notes: Ah, the classic combo of a tee and shorts. This is an everyday look for me, but I made a few strategic moves to make it feel a bit more styled — like sizing up in the tee for a slouchier look, adding a chic croc belt, and doing a bit of tonal layering. If you know me, you know I love my neutrals, but sometimes they can look a little flat. So layering similar neutral tones (like browns, taupes, cognacs, etc) is one of my favorite ways to keep an outfit out of the boring zone. It adds instant dimension and interest.
These shorts are unbelievably comfortable and flattering. The fabric is nice, thick, and not see-through as long as you’re wearing undies that match your skin tone. I love the super high waist, and I especially love that it’s not constricting, thanks to a little bit of stretch in the fabric.
Sizing Info: I’m 5’5″ tall with a 30″ bust, 26″ waist, 38″ hip. I’m wearing a M in the tee, a 0 in the shorts, and a 7 in the sandals.
LOOK 2
Styling notes: Isn’t this the coziest look? I’ve only had this sweater for a short while, but I’ve already worn it so many times — the linen-cotton blend makes it the perfect weight for chilly indoor AC or a cool night.
Also, can we talk about these stunning sandals? They are made of the softest leather! I’m talking buttery soft. As soon as I slipped them on, I knew they were keepers. However, keep in mind, they don’t have any cushion or support, so I’d suggest getting a pair of self-adhesive sandal insoles if you have sensitive feet.
Sizing Info: I’m wearing a 0 in the shorts, a 7 in the sandals, and a L in the sweater. I sized up to a L in the sweater for a slouchier look (and because they were sold out in my usual size) so don’t be afraid to size up if they are sold out in your normal size.
LOOK 3
Blazer | Shorts | Tee | Sandals
Styling notes: I’ve been admiring shorts-suits for quite some time now on Pinterest, and finally tried the look for myself — I love it. I paired the blazer with a plain white tee and white shorts to make a tone-on-tone statement.
On that note, if you’re into wearing all white, wear it. If not, no need! We all have different preferences and needs, and it’s important to honor ourselves above an inspirational photo or what a blogger says.
And just so you know, I’ve already managed to get a stain on the shoulder of this blazer, but that little stain has actually made me more prone to reach for it. It’s already imperfect, so there’s no pressure. Of course, I want to keep my clothes looking nice so they’ll last, but it’s important to remember the purpose of clothes — to wear them and use them.
Sizing Info: I’m wearing a 0 in the blazer, a 0 in the shorts, M in the tee, and a 7 in the sandals.
LOOK 4
Styling Notes: Here’s another all-white outfit with black accessories. I’m so impressed with this tee. (It’s the same tee from outfits 1 and 3.) Not only is it a great price, but it drapes beautifully and has subtle heathering. I wear a nude bra underneath because the fabric is thin, but it’s exactly the fabric weight I want to wear when it’s 95 degrees out.
Also, these sandals! I think these might be my favorite sandals of 2019. They read like a designer shoe — that squared toe and those beautiful straps! Plus they have a generously cushioned footbed, so they are comfortable for a whole day of walking.
Sizing Info: I’m wearing a 0 in the skirt, a 7 in the sandals, and a M in the tee. I usually size up in Everlane tees because I’ve found them to shrink in the dryer, plus I love an oversized look.
LOOK 5
Styling notes: Let’s finish this post with my favorite outfit of the bunch! First of all, I love this skirt because it’s not too short. And similar to the shorts, it’s not see-through and it’s got a bit of stretch to keep it comfortable at the waist.
One thing to note: I’ve noticed that, on me, Everlane skirts tend to crease just under the zipper. This is probably because I have wider hips, but I’ve noticed it even when I size up. It’s not a deal-breaker for me, but it definitely becomes more noticeable as the day goes on, and it’s something to keep in mind.
Finally, I felt at home in this silk camisole the moment I put it on. I have a smaller bust, and I love that it doesn’t gap when I lean over. Plus I have the option to go bra-less, thanks to a double lining.
Sizing Info: I’m wearing a 0 in the cami, a 0 in the skirt, and a 7 in the sandals.

And there you have it!
Now I’d love to hear from you! Did you pick up any outfit ideas from this post? Which was your favorite look? Do you have a favorite Everlane item in your closet right now? If so, which one?
xo,
My favorite is 5 but they are all great?
I’m doing this same color palette for summer and I’m loving it. Everything goes together beautifully and it’s so versatile.
Also, I love your white linen drapes!
Caroline, love all your looks, one of these days I will actually buy something from Everlane. But, please, you didn’t tell us anything about the bag you are carrying in Look 4. I am obsessed with circle bags and you have given me a fabulous idea with this bag on how I can make one of my own. Thanks in advance for the info on the bag.
Hi Michele! :) Sure thing, the bag is from Apprvl and it’s made entirely of rope. Apprvl makes so many interesting rope items so definitely check them out for more ideas. And here’s a link to the bag I’m carrying: http://www.apprvlnyc.com/shop/pink-large-rope-tote-bag-y4wer-78tly
I just bought one of their bags! Thanks for recommending the shop. It’s all so yummy.
1,2 and 5 are my favourites and it gives me the feeling that I can pull it up easily, that comfortable and beautiful summer vibe. I am not really a fan of the 3rd outfit as I have the feeling that the long slouchy blazer its not combining well with those minimal sandals on a short body like mine ?. I love the colors you used and also the fact that even if I dont have the same items at home, i can easily pull out a similar look as it is very versatile. well, i am not surprised, i think versatility is your signature in all the outfits you show us. I am glad I started to see more posts from you lately. You have a happy vibe ?
Thank you for taking the time to say this, Andreea! I always hope I can inspire people to recreate similar looks with items they already have, so hearing that from you means a lot. <3
1 & 5! So gooood.
This looks just like my summer palette, so thank you for the inspiration!
=)
Hi Mallory! I think 1 + 5 are my favs too. :) So glad you felt inspired!
Loved all the outfits and the fact that the neutral colours didn’t look boring at all! Really liked the cosy sweater and shorts and all white outfits which is something I want to play around with, definitely! Also will be trying shorts with a blazer and finally getting some use out of my black cami which I was struggling to pair with something (although I don’t have such a beautiful white skirt!) Thank you for this post
I really admire your style, colours, everything! You make it so imitation easy with what one already owns as well as provide incentive to build a season closet. Thanks especially for being our model, rather than only writing and telling us how to just dress already! So helpful.
Loving all of these! Quick Everlane question: I’ve heard multiple rave reviews on their T-shirts, but just wondering if you have any experience with the slim-cotton long sleeve crew. I’ve read mixed reviews, and many people say the fabric is cheap and see-through, thoughts?
Hi Emma! I don’t have any in-person experience with that particular tee, so hopefully someone else will chime in here. However, from the photos, it looks like it might be a similar weight to the Air Oversized Crew that I featured today. The Air Oversized Crew fabric is quite thin and lightweight, almost like a tissue tee. I definitely have to wear a nude bra with it. But I did find the fabric to be soft, and I actually like that it’s thin because it drapes beautifully and keeps me cool in the heat of the day. One last note — I do have one of their Pima Micro Rib long sleeve tees and the fabric is much more substantial and luxe feeling. Hopefully that helps a bit. :)
I like the fit of the slim cotton, but I agree that it’s lower quality than the short sleeve tees and pima cotton. I highly recommend the pima cotton long sleeve. Best layering piece.
Thank you both!!! Much appreciated ?
I love the last look. Your style is so effortless. I only have a few Everlane pieces but my favourite is the black pencil skirt I wear multiple times per week!
Sarah! Always happy to see a comment from you! :) I agree, my Everlane pieces tend to do a lot of heavy lifting in my closet. Such useful basics.
Love this post Caroline, beautifully done! The styling on these outfits is so good, and so you! I have eyed that linen and cotton sweater for so long, but never went for it because my size is sold out. I am blown away by how you styled it, sized up. It looks so good!!!
Congratulations are working with such a great company! <3
PS – Your Barrel bag is killer!
I’m confused on your sizing. How are you wearing a size 0 in the shorts/skirt with a 38″ hip? That doesn’t fit their size guide. I’m a 40″ hip and am always a 6-8 depending where I shop. Is their sizing off?
Hi Marilyn! I do find that Everlane’s stretch cotton bottoms run a little large. In other stores I’m a 2 or 4. You may want to consider sizing down one size, however, if you haven’t ordered from them before, I’d recommend deferring to their size guide.
totally obsessed with these looks, really my style

That all white skirt/shirt ensemble has me reeling. Love it!

Oh my word this post had me swooning so hard, I have never gone and pressed purchase on my Everlane basket so quickly! I’ve been umming and ahing for so long over a few items and as soon as I saw your outfits 1 and 2, I immediately committed because most of those were in my basket too! Thank you so much for enabling me!
Seriously I love outfits 1 and 2. I am channeling your style so very hard :D
Hi Caroline ,
I loved all the looks but my favorite is 1 and 3 . i have been thinking of trying a short suit look for a long time now ,maybe if i find a perfect lightweight blazer . Also wanted to ask where is your mock croc belt from ?? Thank you.
LOVE the sweater/short combo. Hoping that sweater comes back in stock soon!
I’ve been eyeing the shorts and you’ve pretty much sold me on them!
My favorite Everlane piece is their authentic stretch high waisted skinnies. I have one in black that I’ve worn at least once a week since I got them in January. They are amazing, people! They’re a heavier weight denim and are ridiculously flattering. I’m 5′ 3″ and got the short length – no hemming! They’re my go-to work jeans and I’m going to buy all the washes and another black pair once my other jeans wear out.
These outfits are gorgeous! My favorite is the first one. Thanks for the inspiration :)
2 & 5 are my favorites! I also didn’t realize we have the exact same measurements (awkward? Nah, whatever) so thank you for putting those because it’s so easy to shop online when you see someone exactly like you in the clothes first.
Can you tell me a little bit more about the black strappy sandals? I’ve been looking for a pair like that, but my problem with thin straps is that they have a tendency to dig in to the flesh on top of your foot. Do you find that issue with these? TIA!
Hi Megan! I hear ya — thin straps that dig in are a deal breaker! So far, I’ve found these to be very comfortable, even for all day wear. The straps are just wide enough, plus they are super soft and flexible. Here’s something to keep in mind though: A 7 is my true size, but a 7 in these sandals was just a tiny bit too long in the footbed length. So I thought I might size down to a 6.5 — but when I tried on the 6.5, I immediately had strap issues — they were too tight and did dig into my feet. So I stuck with the 7, even though it’s a tiiiiny bit too long for my foot in length. I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions — happy to help! :)
Where are your belts from? Desperately seeking good belts for the wardrobe. Thanks! Love all of these looks!
Hi Erica! The black belt is vintage, and the brown belt is by Anderson’s Belts. :)
