Three things:

1. Hubby and I are moving this weekend. Yes, the weekend before Thanksgiving. Yes, we’re crazy.

2. Because of said move, my brain is filled with Pinterest packing tips + the phone number of the pizza delivery place + strategies on how to best coerce my friends into helping us move. :)

3. So instead of making you sit through some less than interesting text here, I’m going to point you in the direction of some other really great stuff on the interwebs. Okay? Okay!

    Hi Caroline,

I LOVE your blog…it has helped me tremendously. I am still learning however. I wasn’t sure where to post this question, but wondered when and how you go about planning for the next capsule. In other words, are there certain sites you look at to give you an idea of upcoming trends for winter? Also, how far in advance do you start getting an idea for this? I appreciate any advice you could give :)

Yes, I wondered about this, too! We are moving to DC from Austin next month, and I need some winter inspiration :)

    Good luck with the move!!

I’ve been working on creating my capsule wardrobe and ordered some new clothes. I spent SO MUCH TIME finding the right pieces and colors only to have pretty much NOTHING fit right when i tried them on last night. So disappointed. But, I’m thinking, maybe it takes time to create a perfect wardrobe just for me and my style and my budget.

    Any thoughts??

It definitely takes a long time. The INTO MIND article she linked really helped. When I decided to do it, I couldn’t afford to do a complete overhaul of my closet. So I got key pieces that I knew I have always loved and will continue to love in quality and then bought replaceable blouses/sweaters from cheapie places like H&M, Mango, etc.

This is definitely a process – but well worth it once you figure out your style!

I’m moving this weekend too! Glad I’m not the only crazy one :) I’ve been waiting for this move to start my own capsule wardrobe. Something I never considered before stumbling upon your site. Thanks for the inspiration & motivation!

    Congrats on the move!

Are you moving into another apartment or into a house? Our move made me look into minimalism… we had so much STUFF that I ended up being disgusted with myself. Hopefully yours is a breeze!

    Sincerely, Tania

    Caroline,

I loved the article on southernweddings.com that featured your apartment. Your home style is fantastic! Would love to see how you incorporated your furniture into a new space (as I am moving in the near future and thinking about how our stuff would look in a new apartment, without having to buy more). I know Un-fancy is wardrobe-centric, but I am curious about any moving tips and advice you may have for keeping things minimalist at home. A furniture capsule, if you will!? (Had to say it.) :)

    Thanks!
    Laura

I love the detail on those boots. It’s all about those little things that make us feel special in our clothes, don’t you think?

We are moving this weekend too! It’s a good time to shake things up. And guess what I created? A temporary moving capsule wardrobe!! Ten items that I can use for outfits for the first couple weeks that all fit into our three day box. No piles of dirty laundry or mad dash to unpack.

    Capsules galore!

Please share details on your move! I know you guys live in a small minimal apartment, but curious what kind of changes come with the move? Apartment size and style? Reasons for the move? I’m not asking for any personal details, however. =)

Thanks for sharing these links! The first two especially are very pertinent to me right now. I’d never been to the INTO MIND site, so thanks for introducing me!

Hi there! I love your blog and I’ve been hooked since Kate from The Small Things Blog mentioned you =)

I was wondering, I have really lon hair (about four-five inches longer than yours) and absolutely love how you style yours! How do you do it?? I’ve tried most things but can never get the curls to stay or for them to look anything close to yours. Any tips?

    Thanks!

I love this casual look, especially the scarf! Can you fix the link to it please? The nordstrom link is a wristlet. Thanks for the inspiration!

Here’s my moving tip: the first thing that I do when I’m moving is make the bed. There is NOTHING worse than moving all day and being utterly exhausted and having to hunt around to find sheets, pillows etc. You will be so grateful to fall into an already made bed at the end of the long day. Good luck!
