Happy Halloween weekend! You can tell I’m caught up in the festivities by my black and orange outfit. :)
I’m actually the lame person who isn’t into Halloween, but I’m making a valiant effort this year, since we’re currently celebrating in Seattle with my sis and brother in law. We’re all going to a party, and Aaron and I are even wearing a couples costume!
I gotta admit, I’m super stoked about our couples costume. I’m sure I’ll be sharing it on IG Stories tomorrow night.
But, anyway. I give the party 40 minutes, tops, before I start looking for an excuse to leave. Because a couch, PJs, and pumpkin seed BarkThins sound like a pretty great Halloween to me. (Anybody else obsessed with those?)
What are you up to this weekend? Are you into Halloween or not so much?

xo,
I really dig those booties. I need some new ones, and I’m currently holding out for just the right pair.
Finally! Someone else that isn’t into Halloween! I don’t hate it but I’ve never been as excited and into it as others seem to be. I’ll be dressing up as Jessica Day from New Girl for our office Halloween (only had to buy a pair of fake glasses) haha.
Love the outfit! I recently purchased a gold sweater from Madewell and when I feel like Fall, if Fall were a person.
I have reached middle age and I have never tricked or treat! And I am good! Glad to know that I am not alone.
Love the gorgeous light in these photos.
Oh, those Barkthins look gorgeous, not in the UK apparently :(.
Not to be too shamelessly self-promoting, but I made a copycat version on my blog – it’s soo easy! http://www.betondinner.com/salted-dark-chocolate-pumpkin-seed-bark/ ?
Oh, I will check those out. Thank you.
Halloween isn’t really a thing in the UK, but our holidays seem to be getting increasingly Americanised (e.g. we have Black Friday now…but no Thanksgiving, which I celebrate anyway with friends from the US ;)) so it’s ever more popular. I think the last time I actively marked it was as an undergrad (any excuse for a party). This year I’m going to a light show in our local botanic garden, which I don’t think is themed, it just coincides. Halloween lights would be pretty cool though…
This is a lovely outfit, I’m not in to halloween either but love the colour combination. Have a nice weekend.

Those booties are beautiful! Actually, the whole outfit is. I’m with you on Halloween, I do enjoy costumes but I just don’t enjoy the focus on ugly/evil/scary/disgusting things.
I love this so much! The knotted tee is perfect with those booties. ?
Perfect Halloween outfit. Festive but not overdone. Going to be looking at this for inspiration on Monday morning!
Can’t wait to see your and your husband’s costumes! Hope you guys have such a great time out that you forget all about the couch and snacks ; ) And I hope the same for myself tomorrow night!
xo,

I’m not into Halloween at all; so an outfit like yours is all I’d need to feel festive ;) Have you ever thought of trying a vibrant orange? I feel like you could really pull it off :)
Beautiful cardigan!

I’m not a Halloween gal myself – and everyone thinks I’m crazy for it! I did buy a couple costumes for my pets, and I always love to sprinkle some mini pumpkins around the house for some fall spirit, but that’s where it ends for me! Glad to know I’m not the only one – most people think I’m crazy when I tell them.
I love dressing up for Halloween! I’m on my way to Walla Walla for a fun party? I am going as a Pirate Wench. FYI: if you ever need to check a fake gun & sword through TSA, make sure you tell them it’s in your bag?
Very nice! That would be a perfect nod for my office, where no one does anything but I still like to feel celebratory.
I grew up in a household that thought Halloween was evil, and while I don’t think that as an adult, I think it’s overhyped and have no childhood memories to really make that day special. In fact, I’m rather flummoxed that yard decor in my neighborhood rivals Christmas.
I’m just convinced that halloween is a good excuse to have fun playing dress up and eat lots of candy ;)
I’m loving that cardigan – looks so cozy!

I love all the colours in your outfit, Caroline! Mmm and I love BarkThins!
Have a fun halloween in Seattle with your family!
My guy is super into Halloween, so over the course of our relationship I’ve gotten into it. I’m going to be Hermione this year, but my fave costume was when we did a Mulder/Scully X-Files couples costume. I seem to only get excited about costumes where I can dress up as a badass woman :)
Even in Europe Halloween is gaining groundas an imported tradition (although it originated here, it was not around, say, twenty years ago!). I like myself a good halloween party among friends: yes to the couch and yummie snacks, also yes to dressing up if you’ve got the time. Sadly in our group of friends the dressing up has vanished the last couple of years (ah, to be a student and have plenty of time …) but we’re still coming together and watching a b-movie this year (pride and prejudice and zombies, if anyone’s curious).
I’m not a halloween person. I used to like giving out candy to the kids, but most now do the local downtown stuff or “trunker-treating” and call it good, so we don’t get much int he way of kids now either. Don’t dislike, but not a party person which seems to be a lot of Halloween’s appeal.
I like Christmas and Thanksgiving a lot though, so am excited for the holiday season :)
That cardigan gets me every time! It looks so cozy and warm. It would be perfect for Seattle’s chilly fall!
That cardigan looks comfy! Nice ootd shot. Love it xo

I’m more into Halloween from a decorating standpoint than from a costuming one. And even *that* love has diminished since I’m now living in an apartment in someone’s backyard so no one sees it but me. I know, I know, “I Matter,” blah blah blah, HA, but at this point, when it comes down to it, I’d rather spend the time and money on something else.
I *do* love your ootd – that pumpkiny tee and amazing cocoon sweater!

I’m with you! Halloween and I have never been on the same page. The only part I enjoy is seeing the kids dress up in costumes because they can be super cute, but I’m a total whimp when it comes to scary things. Also, I LOVE this outfit of yours – I totally tried knotting one of my longer shirts, similar to how yours is styled, and it made me appreciate the shirt in a whole new way. How fascinating! (: Hope you enjoy your halloween!
I love that the last two outfits mix gray and warm neutrals! I have a lot of both but am usually afraid to mix them up. Copying this outfit today!
