Aaron and I are back in Texas after a fun weekend visiting my sister and brother in law in Seattle. I got to live out all my fantasy fall dreams and wear sweaters all weekend!
It was excellent.
Now it’s back to Texas and our 80 degree fall days. So … time to layer without layering. Hence this outfit.
The ol’ tie-it-around-the-waist trick is one of my best “layering” tricks for when it’s warm outside, but I still want to wear a flannel shirt and give off a fall vibe. I’ve got it in a blue and black palette here, but you could make it even more fall-ish with a different color palette — like maybe a merlot + navy plaid shirt and blue jeans? Sounds good to me.
However, the weather forecast tells me that it won’t be long now until the cool weather hits — looks like it should be next week!
Perfect timing, because I got to practice my layering game in Seattle, and now I have some easy layering formulas in my bag of tricks. Sharing them in a few days!
Speaking of bags of tricks, happy Halloween!
Even though I’m not usually into Halloween, the four of us donned our costumes on Saturday night and went out, ready to get (mildly) crazy. We gave it a valiant effort, but ended up back at home in PJs way earlier than I care to admit. :)
Instead, we opted for glorious sleep and a morning spent wondering around coffee shops and cute little stores in Seattle. I don’t know about you, but these days, I get way more excited about going out in the morning than I do at night. :)
Whatever you’re up to tonight, I hope you have a blast!
