We adopted a greyhound last week!
And she took over today’s outfit photos. :)
So, meet Margot. She’s a retired racer and we couldn’t love her more!
We’d been wanting to adopt a greyhound since last Fall, but it had gotten pushed to the back burner for one reason or another — holidays, getting settled in the house, work projects. Meh.
Then a couple of weeks ago, Aaron walked into the kitchen and announced it was time to make it happen.
He’d been listening to a podcast that morning, and the main message of it was: “Figure out what brings you joy in life. Then get more of it.”
Oh, the power of podcasts. :)
Aaron and I would both agree that dogs are in the top 5 of the “Things That Bring Us Joy In Life” list.
So we drove to Dallas and spent a few days going through the adoption process and making sure Steve (our 11 year old whippet) and Margot would get along.
I’m happy to say they are the palliest of pals. :)
Anyway … today’s outfit … white tank + cream vest + jeans.
It’s funny, I’ve been wearing some version of this outfit since 2013. Here’s the first version. And here’s the second. Oh, and here’s the third. So I guess that makes today’s post the fourth version that’s been documented on the blog.
I love it when an outfit has staying power. I mean, you’ll have to check back in with me in 2023 to see if it really has staying power. But so far so good.
I’ve been thinking about the idea of “staying power” when it comes to clothes, and I’m curious: What gives an outfit or a garment staying power, in your book? How do you know — before you buy it — if a piece will last you 5 years or more?
Or, if you just want to chat about how dogs are the best ever, that works great too. :)
