Capsule #2 // Outfit 51
It’s amazing what a plain white tee (with the perfect drape + fit) can do for your closet. It took me a while to learn this. When I’d look at a plain white tee in a store I’d think, Boring. But with just a couple of killer accessories, it’s totally transformed into something cool. Sidenote: I think a cool look happens when the elements don’t compete with each other.
So when it’s time to go out for a dinner date, this is the outfit I’m usually grabbing. It’s simple — what’s more simple than a plain white tee and jeans? — but effortlessly chic with the right accessories. Proving again that it’s not so much what you have, but how you style it.
P.S. Happy #unfancyfriday! Play along on Instagram: Snap a selfie and tag it #unfancyfriday so we can all get inspired by each other’s style.

I love a good white t-shirt and jeans combo!
Here’s a question for you – do you have any advice for creating a capsule wardrobe on a maybe $10 a month for clothes budget? Or at least an extremely small budget? I know that buying nicer quality clothes is expensive but that they also last longer, but my friends and I aren’t really in a place where we can afford that every 3 months right now. :)
Hi Stacia!
Hm, $10 a month? That’s a tricky one — but there are definitely ways. The first thing that comes to mind is hosting a clothing swap with your friends. Everyone brings 5-10 pieces of clothing and you shop + swap with each other. Another thing you could do (I always do this) is to ask for gift cards to your favorite clothing stores for your birthday + Christmas. Also, you could try taking on a creative side job (writing an e-book, designing + selling a print, selling your clothes on ebay, etc.) and letting the profits fund your wardrobe.
I’ll keep thinking!

I have loved your blog so far! I live in Houston, so I feel like we live in the same crazy hot climate! One thing I don’t like about white shirts, and this may be TMI, but they always get a yellow pit stain on them. I actually avoid white shirts for this reason. I feel like I just ruin them. Does this issue just happen to me?
Hi Lauren! You are so not alone here. :) But I love my white shirts and can’t stop wearing them, so I just plan on having to replace them when needed. xo Caroline
Simple. Classic. Gorgeous.
I need to know where you got that white tee from? i know you linked Gap as similiar but I cant find it.
