It’s day two of the 10×10 challenge — woohoo!
In case you missed all the details in last Friday’s post, here’s what’s going on. For the next two weeks, I’m teaming up with my best blogging pal Lee of Style Bee, and we’re hosting a remix challenge: 10 pieces of clothing, 10 outfits, 10 days.
Each weekday, I’ll post my outfit of the day, share my first impressions, and then give some styling notes. Ready? Let’s jump in!
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
I always feel happy when I wear this dress because it reminds me of our trip to Paris in 2015. (You can see my packing list from our Paris trip here.) I decided to include it in my summer remix because it’s light and breezy — perfect for hot days like today.
On my agenda today? In the morning, I’ve got gym time and working from home — so I’ll probably be in workout clothes most of the morning. But then I’ve got a lunch date and lots of errands to run in the afternoon — since I’ll be out and about in the heat, this dress will keep me cool.
STYLING NOTES
A COMFORTABLE STRAPLESS BRA IS KEY | A strapless bra that requires tugging and fidgeting is no fun at all. But, several years ago, I found a strapless bra that’s both comfortable and stays put. There’s something about the shape of it — I’m not sure if there’s a technical name for it, but the cups just come up a little higher, helping it stay in place. Balconette or demi style strapless bras fall right down on me, but this shape stays put when worn a little lower on the ribcage. I also went all MacGyver on mine and cut the underwire out of it for added comfort. :)
SOMETIMES CLASSIC ACCESSORIES ARE THE BEST ACCESSORIES | Something about this dress feels effortless, breezy, and classic. So I opted for accessories with that same classic vibe — a big tote, simple slide sandals, and a simple bar necklace I wear almost every day.
WANT TO STAY COMFORTABLE + LOOK CUTE? REACH FOR A DRESS | Ah, dresses. No pinching waistbands. No need to coordinate a top and bottom. You can just throw it on and be done. Bonus: When you wear a dress, people think you tried — when in fact, you probably didn’t. :)

Love this look esp the cognac slides mixing with the soft colors of the dress. Great styling thank you always for the inspiration.
I want to participate (#summer10x10) but is winter here in Brazil.
I love when a garment can bring me back to a place I’ve visited – it’s so nice to be like “this is my Paris-dress and that is my Copenhagen-sweater!”
Yes, me too Krystal! It’s all that romance behind the memories and ideas of traveling. <3
I just wore my “London dress” today (purchased on a trip there seven years ago) and it totally made my day when I was NOT looking forward to work!
Lovely! I was just thinking recently about how I love dresses for traveling but almost never wear them at home or just because. I should look at getting some more durable everyday dresses, since I really only have one.

morning. would you mind recommending alternative bras. the one you wear doesn’t come in itty bitty sizes. :(
Hey Mel! I can make some recommendations based on similar shapes and colors, but honestly would have no idea if they are any good because I haven’t tried them. Here are a couple I found that look similar.

I would HIGHLY recommend finding a local store (Nordstrom, perhaps?) that can get you fitted. That will be your best bet. Good luck! :)
I second Caroline’s recommendation of going to Nordstrom if you have one around for a bra fitting. I always thought I was a 34A (or something along the lines for membership into the itty bitty club) and after my fitting, I was a 32B. And it was life changing! I know that sounds dramatic, but a good fitting bra does wonders for your self-esteem! I think I will be trying this one out because the last one I bought was so painful that I gave it away. Cheers!
Classic always works!-Laurel
