Happy Friday! We’re at the halfway point in the summer 10×10 you guys! :)
In case you missed it, here’s what’s going on: My girl Lee of Style Bee and I are hosting a remix challenge: 10 pieces of clothing, 10 outfits, 10 days.
It’s not to late to join in! We’re all working on our own time table here — some are wrapping up, some are just starting, some are right in the middle. So hop on in — here’s my quick start guide.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Well, this look definitely isn’t anything new — it’s not that romantic style I’ve been testing out over the course of this challenge. But y’know what? It’s Friday and I feel chill so I’m just going to stay in my comfort zone and call it a day. :)
Today’s agenda? I’ve got a few hours of work in the morning and then we’re headed down the road to Dallas for the weekend. Since this romper feels like wearing PJs, it’ll be nice and comfortable for the road trip. Plus, as far as outfits go, it’s about as simple as they come. It doesn’t need much styling at all — just slip it on and you’re ready to go. Easy peasy.
However, if I did want to style it up a bit, I could trade the fabric belt for a cognac braided belt. Or I could throw on a straw hat. Or I could even go sporty and wear it with high top sneaks, a jean jacket, and a ball cap.
But for today, I’m just going the easy route. :)
STYLING NOTE (JUST ONE TODAY)
IF IT’S EASY, WHY COMPLICATE IT? | I could wax on about styling here, but to be honest, I didn’t do an ounce of styling with this outfit, and I’m happy about that. This romper has enough going for it — a bit of pattern, a cool shape, plus the fact that it’s a romper, which is a statement by itself. It doesn’t really need anything else. Rompers are easy, why complicate them? :)

And there you have it! Make sure to hop on over to Lee’s blog to see her outfit today, too.
Lee and I are taking the weekend off of the 10×10 — feel free to do the same. We’ll be back at it on Monday with outfit six. Until then, have a happy weekend! :)

love love love this! Such a nice, simple style. That romper is so good on it’s own, it doesn’t even need anything else:)
I love your outfit! Great choice for a summers day!

Cute cute! How do you get your hair to stay up like that?! Our hair seems quite similar, but I always have trouble getting it to stay up like this throughout the day. I’d like to know your tips, please!
Love that romper on you, Caroline! I think I’ve adopted your same ‘why complicate it’ attitude to all of my outfits lately. A couple rounds if progressive capsuling and the addition of some #memade items has made this easier! I’m finding this 10×10 much more enjoyable than last time for this reason!

I am a huge fan of the KISS principle – not everything needs to be super-styled. Simple is definitely best for this look!
Very cute romper dear! I love the pattern. XO, ellese

Rompers are so easy and flattering – this one looks great on you! Thanks for linking a responsibly made one too.
Could I ask what editing/program you use for posts like your 10×10 challenge (where you show all the pieces labeled and numbered)? You do it so well. Thanks!
Hey Rachel, it’s good ol’ photoshop! :)
That mustard yellow compliments this look so well. Love it!

Hi, I’ve been contemplating getting the cuyana open cardigan that you included in your spring 10×10 for a while, but am a bit unsure which size to get. I’m usually in between a S and a M, and on the one hand I dislike the way cardigans look when they are too tight in the arms, but on the other hand with long cardigans I feel like they can easily look schlumpy and swamp me if they’re too big/long. Any tips on how the sizing runs on the cuyana cardigan? I’m about 5’6″ if that helps
Loving it!
Hi Caroline! Super cute, and love keeping it simple, especially in the heat of summer! I’ve actually had my eye on this same romper, and I was wondering if you could help me with something. You and I are the same size, I think – would you mind telling me what size you’re wearing? It fits you so beautifully! ☺️
Hi Jonessa! I’m wearing the XS — my usual. :)
Thanks! :)
