Am I the only one who is super reluctant to spend money on active wear or lounge wear? I have no problem with investing in a good pair of jeans or a dress, but for some reason, athleisure gets neglected in my wardrobe.
And yet, if I were to make a pie chart of my lifestyle activities, the active + lounge sections combined would take up more than half the pie.
So, as I was browsing the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this week, I decided to forgo “regular clothes” in favor of some really cozy, cute athleisure pieces.
And they have such good colors this year! Gorgeous shades of blue and green, and good neutrals.
My top 3 pieces are that Free People cami (no. 6 & 12 — love that V back detail), UGG Cozetta Shearling Slippers (no. 13 — comfort!!), and Spanx lounge shorts and sweatshirt (no. 4 & 10 — always love a set).
Keep scrolling to see the rest of my 13 picks!

1 | Free People Swim Too Deep Turtleneck Sweater | On sale for $84.99 (regularly $128)
This looks so cozy! I love pairing an athletic piece with a “regular” piece. Perfect to throw on over bike shorts.
2 | Nike Calm Slide Sandal | On sale for $39.99 (regularly $50)
I’d wear these as house slippers, and on quick grocery runs. Socks optional.
3 | Spanx Booty Boost 7/8 Leggings | On sale for $64.99 (regularly $98)
A little extra compression and lift on the bum is never a bad thing.
4 | Spanx Air Essentials 4″ Shorts | On sale for $54.99 (regularly $78)
These shorts make a set with the Spanx sweatshirt (no. 10). Cute for lounging or errands.
5 | Zella Cloudfleece Sweatshirt | On sale for $39.99 (regularly $59)
6 | Free People All Clear Rib Cami | On sale for $20.99 (regularly $30)
Absolutely love the lines on this little cami.
7 | Free People Never Better Pocket Bike Shorts | On sale for $39.99 (regularly $58)
Hello fun color! Also — pockets!
8 | Zella Studio Luxe Ballet Longline Bra | On sale for $32.99 (regularly $49)
Okay, this one is a sleeper. Do you see that beautiful double V detail? The way it V’s at the neck and bottom hem too? GORGEOUS.
9 | Zella Studio Luxe Pocket 7/8 Leggings | On sale for $49.99 (regularly $79)
I always go practical and basic and get black leggings. But I’m thinking I should get a colorful pair, and this shade of teal-y blue is calling my name. It’d pair well with all my black and grey pieces I already have.
10 | Spanx Air Essential Sweatshirt | On sale for $79.99 (regularly $118)
This one makes a set with the Spanx shorts (no. 4).
11 | OnCloud X 3 Training Shoe | On sale for $111.99 (regularly $149)
I usually stick with Nike sneakers for working out, but I’ve heard so many good things about OnCloud that I might just try them. Especially when they’re on sale.
12 | Free People All Clear Rib Cami | On sale for $20.99 (regularly $30)
Don’t even get me started on this gorgeous shade of blue!
13 | UGG Cozetta Curly Shearling Slide Slipper | On sale for $69.99 (regularly $100)
Comfy for around the house, and I love how the brown would pair with the other blue and green pieces.

Love this post; we’re the opposite! I’m hesitant to spend money on “cute” clothes because almost all of my life is active. Almost all of my clothes are Athleta, Sweaty Betty, old Lululemon, or Commando. After a cleaning spree, I have 2 jeans, 2 denim shorts, and a few cute dresses or shirts, but almost never wear them. How interesting!
I was close to purchasing the free people shortalls, but kept reminding myself I would force myself to wear them and resent it. I love your style, and even though we’re different, I still get great inspiration!
