And I practically launched off my couch and into my closet to recreate it.
The baggy jeans! The vintage plaid shirt! The leather jacket!
Even better — it was one of those magical moments when inspiration aligned with what I already had in my closet.
The weather was warm that day, so I made a few tweaks — flip flops instead of boots, ditching the leather jacket all together — and suddenly I found myself in an outfit I loved.
Knotting a shirt around your waist has always been a great styling move for warm weather — a way to layer without layering, if you will. But I don’t think I’d ever tried the move with baggy jeans. So much volume, so much drape! A whole vibe.

I just watched your YouTube video – very helpful! Just one question – did you have a carry on weight limit? I’ve done lots of trips with a carry on but I find it’s the weight limit that makes it hard. My last trip the airline had a weight limit of 15 pounds for personal item and suitcase combined! That was hard!
There wasn’t a weight limit, at least not one that I was aware of. (I flew American and British Airways) That would be challenging though! My suitcase itself was pretty light, but my personal item bag was heavy — I probably would have been over a 15lb limit. :-/
