Texas has been having a very 80°F autumn, but all of a sudden, we got our first cold front! You can bet I JUMPED at the chance to wear my favorite coat. Well, this is really more of a double-faced wool cardigan than a coat coat. When you live somewhere on the warmer side of the weather spectrum, you become an expert at little hacks like this.
Yesterday, I was heading out to a friend’s house for an evening of take-out and TV. The fashion girly in me wanted to wear a LEWK…but the regular girly in me just wanted to curl up in cozy sweats and have a comfortable night with my friends.
Here’s the fun part — fashion girly and regular girly aren’t mutually exclusive! One doesn’t need to be left in the dust. Both are invited! What a delight to those of us who love fashion, but also lead a very casual lifestyle!
So, fashion girly wears the show-stopping coat, while regular girly wears the decidedly flattering, yet comfortable wide-leg sweat pants (I highly recommend these — the fit through the hip and butt is just perfect). Win, win!

Aritzia Fairmont Coat (old) | Similar: Reformation Downing Coat
Adidas Baseball Cap (old) | Similar: Adidas Baseball Cap
Fit notes: These WILL shrink almost a full size when you wash and dry them, even on a cold wash and a low heat dry. I’m usually a 4 or a 6 at Lulu, and I got these in a 6. They were too long and a little too big when I got them, but after a wash they shrunk up perfectly.
Polene Paris Umi Bag | Similar: Charles and Keith Buzz Hobo Bag & Mansur Gavriel Small Candy Bag
James Avery Foxtail Chain Necklace (wearing 18in)

As I continue to swelter in Florida with temps near 90, this post makes me want to weep with envy! What a gorgeous coat and what a nice tip for how to still feel a bit polished on a low key night.
