This is how I channel fall when it’s still hot out

This is such a sweet time of year — savoring these last weeks of summer, while also looking forward to the autumnal shift. It’s the season of enjoying peaches and ice cream in the backyard *and* noticing that the light is slanting a little differently in the evenings.

My Pinterest boards are starting to brim with fall outfit inspiration. And while it’s not time for sweaters or coats yet, one of my favorite ways to channel fall when it’s still hot is through color. I take regular summer items, but wear them in a fall palette. Like bike shorts and ball caps — summer staples for me, but I found ’em in this deep chocolate brown that is totally satisfying my need for a hint of fall. It’s the type of moody palette that conjures up images of a cozy cafe on a rainy day.
