A good pair of sweats is essential to my winter wardrobe. When I’m at home, I’m pretty much always in sweats. If I’m headed to hang out at a friend’s house for a Netflix night, I’m in sweats too. They are just so cozy and warm and I prefer their classic sporty appeal over a chic lounge set.

I still have my quarantine sweats and still love them — although they are coming apart at the seams, so I reserve them for PJs. This year, I treated myself to a new set of sweats in black — they are my “going out” sweats, hah.

To me, the magic is the matching set — it looks intentional, even though it’s super casual. And, in my book, nothing looks more refined than a black set. It makes for a nice foundation to build on. Add a big beautiful coat on top, a cute little bag, some jewelry, and you’ve got a whole look going!

Hi Caroline, I wanted to tell you that I’ve enjoyed your work and your posts/photos for years now. I am very much into neutrals and having a smaller, more intentional wardrobe – both of these really reduce the decision fatigue of getting dressed every day and help me enjoy the process instead. Also – former fellow Texan here! Lived and grew up in DFW. Have been in Georgia now for the past 10 years. Again, thank you for sharing! Always look forward to reading your content.

Great look! Love the Polene bag! I’ve been eyeing it, but wonder how big it is and what you can fit in it? Seems like I keep finding bags that are just a touch too small.

Hi Janel! It’s definitely small. I can fit in the essentials — phone, card case, keys, airpods, lip balm, hand sanitizer. It works for a day when I don’t need to carry much and it also makes for a fantastic “going out” bag. But it’s not ideal for a day when I might need to carry more. The good news is that this same bag comes in two larger sizes too! The mini size and the regular size. The mini gives you a little more room (I can fit everything mentioned before, plus sunglasses and more cosmetic items), but I think the regular size would make for the most useful “everyday” bag. Hope that helps!

Love your posts! I find sweats w/Polyester are not my jam (it makes me sweat). Have you found any sweats that are 100% cotton? Thanks!
