I love the way this outfit combines an elegant dress with super casual elements like a ball cap and Birkenstocks.

This may be a small detail in this outfit, but I adore these socks from Target. You can’t beat sweatery socks in neutral, marled shades paired with Birkenstocks. These socks are made of cotton, so they are perfect all year round. (If you’re looking for something warmer, try Bombas merino wool socks — so soft, not bulky, and amazingly warm.)

Another small detail — that delicate little necklace from Gorjana. I’ve been on a jewelry kick lately, but instead of buying new jewelry, I took fresh eyes to my own jewelry and rediscovered this gem. The length and the dainty design are really doing it for me these days.

I’m still loving this dress that I got from Target 5 years ago. It’s a staple in my closet and I never get tired of it. Sadly, it’s not available anymore, but I found almost identical options! This dress from Quince ($49) and this dress from Marine Layer ($78).

Lovely! I tried the whole cream hat with a black dress thing the earlier this week and I was happy with how the outfit came together. :)

I noticed you linked Quince for a similar dress, have you tried anything from them? My daughters and I have purchased a few garments and we’ve been impressed with the quality / price point. I feel like they hit that Everlane price point but a bit more timeless in style.

Hi Kimberly! I haven’t bought anything from Quince yet, but I’ve got several things in my cart! One of my friends had a great experience with them, and I’m glad to hear you’re impressed with them too. I agree, they feel similar to Everlane, but I think I like their styles/aesthetic
      even more than Everlane.

    Hi Caroline!

Do you ever wear shapewear by chance? I’m starting to find that knits like this need something underneath so I don’t show too much lol, but I’ve not really tried out any shapewear.

    Thanks!

Hi Christy! This particular dress is really forgiving so I don’t wear shapewear with it. However, I do have a mini slip from Nordstrom that I love — it’s just a simple slip, not so much shapewear, but it’s super useful with some of my other dresses!
