Okay, first of all, no, I’m not actually wearing a sweater today. We are in peak summer where I live, and I’ve lost all interest in wearing anything other than running shorts, tank tops, and flip flops. It’s just too hot to wear anything else.
However!
My heart is squarely in autumn right now.
Usually, I resist fall fashion until the last minute, but not this year. I’ve gotten a jump on my fall wardrobe, and, since thinking about crisp, cool weather is a nice escape from the oppressive heat, how about if we indulge in a little fall preview?
First up — this sweater from And Other Stories.
A good striped sweater is a capsule staple — and yet I haven’t had one in my wardrobe. I just haven’t been able to find a striped sweater that checked all my boxes.
Until now!
This sweater is a tightly woven jacquard knit — which means it won’t sag or lose its shape, like some sweaters do. It’s wonderfully soft and not itchy whatsoever. There are a few touches that feel designer to me — the wide sleeves, the stripe placement, the not-too-short-not-too-long length, the drape. Plus — win of all wins — it’s machine washable!

Thank you for reading my blog! Hope you’re having good day.
That is a fantastic outfit, and omg the sleeves on that sweater! 😍
My heart is always in fall, and I realized this month as I was clicking “buy now” on a gorgeous, organic cotton, slouchy, black sweater that I have unintentionally started a tradition of buying myself a sweater every August. Practically speaking, it makes no sense, as I live in SoCal and will not be able to wear sweaters for months, but August is when I am good and sick of the heat and am ready to get back to my natural state of jeans and sweaters and boots. So I go to my closet and try on a sweater or two every morning before things heat up, just for fun, just to remind myself what I have, and then it’s back to tanks and shorts and ice water and longing for cooler weather.
Thanks for a great post! 🌾🍁🍂🌻
Caroline, I was just eyeing up that exact sweater yesterday! I also live in a hot climate (Florida) and rarely get to wear sweaters and yet the heart wants what the heart wants! Would you describe it as thin, medium, or thick knit? I couldn’t really tell by the product description.
Hi Jessica! I’d say it’s right between thin and medium — certainly substantial and high quality, but not thick or heavy at all. Hopefully that helps a little!
Yes, thank you!!
LOVE that sweater!! What size are you wearing? I’m generally an L-XL but sometimes they are too snug.
Hi Angelique! I’m wearing an XS — I usually go for an S but I sized down in this one.
